    摘要: A clean-in-place filling machine which includes a supply tank connected to a filling nozzle by a filling unit and additionally a flush tank connected to a pump or drain outlet by a valve. A programmable controller operates the machine to fill a container with product from the supply tank via the filling unit and the nozzle, and performs a clean-in-place with a pre-rinse, a wash and a final rinse. The initial rinse is performed by rinsing with a rinsing fluid introduced into the supply tank and exiting the drain outlet via the filling unit, the nozzle, the flush tank and the valve. This is followed by washing with cleaning fluid from the flush tank via the valve, the pump, the supply tank, the filling unit and the nozzle back to the flush tank. This is a closed loop wherein the pressure is provided by the pump and the filling unit is operated to drain the supply tank. The final rinse, rinses with rinsing fluid introduced into the supply tank and exiting the drain outlet via the filling unit, the nozzle, the flush tank and the valve. The pump is disconnected from the supply tank during the final rinse and the valve may be operated to alternately connect the rinsing fluid from the flush tank to the pump to also clean the pump separately.

    摘要: A capping machine in which open containers are successively brought to a capping station where a respective container is held against rotation to permit closing of the open container by rotating movement of a cap fed from a reservoir to a pick-up station; a head frame assembly of the machine includes a spindle assembly carrying a chuck at the lower spindle end and drivingly connected by way of an adjustable clutch and by way of a positive drive connection with a driving motor; additionally, the spindle assembly includes a double-acting pneumatic cylinder to cause reciprocation of the spindle in its axial direction; the various components of the head frame assembly are balanced about a pivot shaft on which they are mounted for pivot movement in unison so that the actuating force for pivoting the head frame assembly can be kept relatively small; in operation, the head frame assembly is pivoted from a capping position where the chuck is in alignment with the open end of the container, into a pick-up position where a plunger transfers the end cap in the chute to the chuck while the chuck and spindle asembly are in a retracted position. The head frame assembly is thereupon pivoted back into the capping position and the cap is secured onto the open neck of the container as the chuck is displaced by the pneumatic cylinder into the extended position.

    摘要: An improved filling machine with tandem-operated diaphragm filling units is disclosed. The filling machine comprises a plurality of individual filling units operated in common from a common drive bar. Each of the filling units includes a cylinder, a flexible rolling diaphragm secured within the cylinder to delimit a working chamber in the cylinder on one side of the diaphragm, a piston arranged with clearance in the cylinder on the other side of the diaphragm for reciprocation in the cylinder, the clearance between the piston and the cylinder permitting the flexible diaphragm to roll and unroll on the piston sidewall and cylinder wall during filling and discharging of a liquid from the working chamber of the filling unit, passages in the cylinder for providing fluid communication with the working chamber, a piston rod extending between the piston and the common drive bar for transmitting a driving force from the common drive bar to the piston during a discharge stroke of the filling unit, the sidewall of the piston and the cylinder wall upon which the diaphragm is rolled and unrolled being tapered in opposite directions a like degree to increase the life of the rolling diaphragm, and wherein the piston rod length is adjustable to permit a change in the distance that the piston penetrates into the cylinder with a given stroke length whereby the volume dispensed by an individual filling unit can be finely adjusted.
