摘要： A disposable absorbent article having a fluid transfer layer with target insult zone and/or wavy cut edges can have a liquid permeable top sheet, a liquid impermeable back sheet, an absorbent core disposed at least partially therebetween, and a fluid transfer layer disposed between the absorbent core and the top sheet, wherein the target insult zone is provided in the fluid transfer layer and can be defined by a generally centrally located cut-out portion therethrough. At the target insult zone, the fluid passes through the cut-out portion into the absorbent core unimpeded by the fluid transfer layer. The fluid transfer layer and/or the cut-out portion defining the target insult zone can have at least one edge which can be cut in a specially designed pattern, for example, a wavy cut pattern, to provide improved aesthetics.

摘要： The present invention discloses a pant-type absorbent article with flat side seams, and a method for manufacturing the same. The absorbent article comprises of a front waist panel, a back waist panel, a crotch region having an absorbent pad and a pair of leg openings disposed between the front panel and the back panel on both sides of the crotch region. The body facing side of one waist panel is bonded to the non-body facing side of the other panel. This kind of bonding ensures that the side seams of the absorbent article stay flat during wear. The bonding is done by using adhesives, hook and loops, or by mechanical/ultrasonic means. In one embodiment of the present invention, the panels are bonded by using a perforated layer of adhesive, thereby enabling easy removal of the article by the wearer.

In a preferred embodiment, the top surface is embossed with a pattern made by circles with spacing between consecutive circles. The novel article is not only less rigid and smoother on the body surface, but also exhibits better absorptive capacity. Various other embodiments are described and are within the scope of the invention.

摘要： An absorbent article is provided having an absorbent core with an absorbent pledget adhered to the body-facing side of the core between the core and the body-facing surface of the article. The pledget has a greater structural stiffness and a reduced surface area relative to the core. The absorbent article has a fluid permeable coverstock including a bi-component fiber. An hourglass-shaped absorbent pledget is disposed between the core and the coverstock. The pledget includes airlaid material adhered to the body-facing side of the absorbent core. The pledget further includes a three-dimensional apertured film mounted to the airlaid material, which engages the coverstock. The absorbent core is configured to fold about the hourglass shape of the pledget and resist undesired deformity of the absorbent article. The coverstock includes adhesive-coated elastic members disposed adjacent the longitudinal sides. The longitudinal sides are folded about a backsheet to enclose the core and pledget.

The opening has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is of sufficient size and shape to enable an adult to extend his/her fingers therethrough to grasp one sheet of the array to pull the sheet into it and then slide the sheet into the second portion. The second portion frictionally engage the sheet slid into it to cause that sheet to be separated from the remaining sheets in the array to remove that sheet from the container.

The brief includes a back section having a pair of ears, each having a single fastening tape mounted thereon, and a front section having a pair of ears for releasable securement by the fastening tapes of the front section.
