    摘要: A drag adjusting mechanism for a dual-bearing reel comprises a drag adjusting lever, a cam mechanism, and a rotation restricting portion. The drag adjusting lever rotates about a spool shaft between a drag release position and a maximum drag position. The cam mechanism has a cam surface that converts rotation of the drag adjusting lever into axial movement of the drag mechanism along the axial direction of the spool shaft. The rotation restricting member is provided on the cam surface and regulates rotation of the drag adjusting lever to the drag release position. The rotation restricting member has a protrusion with an apex, a first slanted surface extending from the apex toward a first position corresponding to a drag release position, and a second slanted surface extending from the apex in the direction opposite to the drag release position. The angle of the first slanted surface is smaller than the angle of the second slanted surface.

    摘要: The drag mechanism includes a friction disk, a cover member, a brake disk, and a drag adjusting mechanism. The friction disk is in a storage space of a first flange portion of a spool and has an engaging recess formed in an external circumferential surface. The cover member has a cylindrical portion that fits into an internal circumferential surface of the storage space, an engaging protrusion on a distal end surface of the cylindrical portion to engage with the engaging recess, and a protruding portion that mate closely with an end face of the first flange portion. The cover member is fixed to the first flange portion and covers the storage space from the outside. The brake disk is arranged in the storage space facing opposite the friction disk and constructed not to rotate in a line reel-out direction. The cam mechanism is designed to move the friction disk and the spool together along an axial direction of the spool with respect to the brake disk such that the friction disk is pressed against the brake disk.

    摘要: A fishing reel drag system may comprise a drag housing having a cavity and fixed rotationally relative to a shaft or a spool. A driven member adjacent the cavity is rotatable relative to the drag housing and with the other of the shaft or spool. A drag stack of washers in the cavity includes a plurality of friction washers keyed to the drag housing or the driven member and at least one metal washer keyed to the other of the drag housing or driven member. A cam and follower move the driven member to bias the drag stack for exhibiting friction. A spring biases the drag stack for producing a desired level of friction and an actuator actuates the cam and follower. The actuator may disengage the spool from the drag stack.
