Abstract:
A wig apparatus is provided comprising: a mesh cap comprising an inner surface, an outer surface, a front region, side regions, and a rear region, the front region comprising a front edge, the side regions comprising a first side edge and a second side edge, and the rear region comprising a rear edge; a filament coupled to the outer surface of the mesh cap in at least one of the front region, the side regions and the rear region; and a parting area disposed within the front region of the mesh, the parting area comprising a first lower corner member, a second lower corner member, and an upper member, the first lower corner member being opposed to the second lower corner member, the upper member being adjacent to each of the first lower corner member and the second lower corner member.
Abstract:
A wig head wrap retains a wig in place on the head, and enables manipulation of the wig prior to mounting on the head. The wig head wrap includes a cap that encapsulates the head and hair while also accommodating an overlaying wig. The cap molds and fits closely on the head and hair of a person or doll. The wig fastens to the cap through sewing or adhesion. The wig may be manipulated to a desired fashion prior to the cap being fitted on the head. A pouch adjacently joins the cap. The pouch retains superfluous hair extending beyond the head, like a ponytail. The pouch can be adjusted towards the back of the head or at the top of the head to form a bun. A wig restraining cable retains the wig on the cap. A cap restraining cable helps retain the cap on the head.
Abstract:
A fully stretchable wig is provided. The wig comprises an inner portion that includes a plurality of wefts with hair attached thereto and connecting, stretchable cross-strips. A stretchable band extends about the circumference of the inner portion, having a variable width which forms a contoured lower edge that creates a realistic hairline. The stretchable band includes stretchable wefts attached to forward and rear portions of the band to allow the band to be stretched along its entire circumference to provide a comfortable and precise fit. Adjustment straps are attached at first ends to the stretchable band and are selectively attachable at second ends to one of a plurality of locations along the band to precisely adjust the size of the wig. Attachments are provided on second ends of the adjustment straps for attaching the second ends of the straps to the band.
Abstract:
A wig adjustable to the size and shape of the user's head includes an inner support or cap designed to cover the user's scalp and whereon is fixed natural or artificial hair. The invention is characterized in the cap is provided, inside, in the entire surface or in at least part of the surface defined by its periphery, a pleating mechanism for producing small pleats thereby reshaping the outline of the cap to make it fit the shape of the user's skull.
Abstract:
A detachable weave and detachable wig includes a Velcro attached hair track worn on elastic Velcro strips supported by an elastic Velcro circumference strip partly joined by an elastic center strip.
Abstract:
A hair-enhancing cap including netting comprised of a tough wire-like elastic synthetic material and including an outer member, a plurality of supporting members secured to the outer member and a plurality of inner members secured between the outer member and the supporting members. The netting of the cap defines a plurality of openings in the cap and includes an elastic fastener secured to the outer member which holds the outer member under tension. The cap also includes natural or synthetic hair secured to the netting of the cap. The cap is positioned on the head over the existing hair and conforms to the natural contour of the head being held in place by the tension in the outer member. The existing hair is drawn through the openings defined by the netting of the cap and combined with the hair secured to the netting thereby obscuring the netting from sight beneath the combination of the existing hair and the hair secured to the netting. The hair secured to the netting, being generally of a different color than the existing hair, creates a frosting effect within the existing hair.
Abstract:
A capless stretch wig constructed in a novel manner employing an elastic base generally conforming to the shape of a human head which is provided with elastic hair wefts secured to the elastic base. The wefts are characterized by at least a pair of parallel extending elastic threads upon which the hair fibers are uniquely attached by weaving a continuous inelastic thread around the shank portions of the hair fibers and a respective elastic strand at the intersection between the shank portions and the respective strands. This weft construction does not substantially interfere with the elasticity of the elastic thread material to permit maximum elongations such that the base and hair wefts conform more closely to the total contour of the wearer''s head.
Abstract:
A wig with an improved front hairline construction which enables the wearer to style the wig alternatively in an ''''off-the-face'''' or in an ''''on-the-face'''' style is provided. The wig foundation has wefts of hair positioned generally perpendicularly of the front edge of the wig so as to intersect the front edge of the foundation at a generally right angle thereto. Preferably, at least a portion of the wefts which intersect the front edge of the foundation comprise a series of wefts attached to the wig foundation in a pattern of generally concentric arcs or arc-like configurations centered about a focal point adjacent the front edge of the wig.
Abstract:
A stretch wig adapted to fit a range of head sizes consists of an elastic mesh fabric wig base having a stiff inelastic frictional stay at the rear edge portion adapted to curve around and engage the nape of the neck to prevent the wig creeping up at the rear. Optionally inelastic stiff stays are provided at the temper portions. The base and stays have hair strands posted thereon to form a wig. The base is cup shaped and is formed by sewing together two or more segments of elastic mesh fabric on substantially radial lines.

A wig apparatus is provided. The wig apparatus includes: a mesh base comprising an inner surface, an outer surface, a fold portion and a terminal edge portion; a band member comprising a first surface, a second surface, a top edge and a bottom edge, wherein the first surface is coupled to the inner surface of the mesh base and wherein the second surface is coupled to the inner surface of the mesh base; a first portion of artificial hair coupled to at least the outer surface of the mesh base adjacent to the first surface; and a second portion of artificial hair coupled to the outer surface of the mesh base adjacent to the second surface.
