Abstract: Disclosed is a readily removable molded insert for footwear, including dress or casual shoes and sneakers. The insert may be manufactured from a variety of resiliently compressible, semi-rigid, and/or resiliently deformable materials and is designed for the purpose of maintaining the general shape and appearance of the upper section of a shoe. Embodiments of the insert are specifically designed to adapt to and conform to the shape of footwear and also to adapt to the contour of a user's foot while the footwear is being worn. The insert may be further cut, trimmed, or separated to fit a range of shoe sizes, by use of perforations along the outer rim of certain embodiments of the insert. Another embodiment of the insert may remain adhesively attached to the inside of the shoe, or it may be removed and repositioned within the shoe, as necessary.

Abstract: A shoe has an air pump device for blowing air into the interior of a shoe comprising a bellows formed in the sole structure and surrounding a cavity, an intake channel for transporting air from an intake opening into the bellows, an air supply device formed in the sole structure for forwarding air from the bellows into the interior of the shoe, and a V-shaped or U-shaped spring element which clasps the bellows. An upper leg of the spring element comprises an upper pressure plate arranged above the bellows and below an insole of the sole structure, and a lower leg comprises a lower pressure plate arranged under the bellows and above an outsole layer, so that a connecting section that connects the two legs is arranged beside the bellows in the sole structure. The air pump device is arranged in such manner that when the sole structure is placed under load during a walking movement, the spring element is deformed elastically by pressing the pressure plates together, wherein the deformation takes place substantially at or close to the connecting section, so that the pressure plates substantially keep their shape, and the bellows is compressed.

Abstract: A disposable, low friction, breathable bootie is provided that accommodates the shape and size of a human foot. The bootie is made from a thin, flexible polymer sheet-like material in a generally tubular form. The bootie has a foot portion, a lower leg portion, and an ankle portion therebetween. The bootie includes a series of air vents in the foot portion and lower leg portion to provide airflow to the foot, while such vents are located to avoid key friction points between the foot and the ski boot during the donning and doffing processes. The bootie facilitates donning and doffing a ski boot. The vents provide breathability while the bootie is worn within the ski boot.

Abstract: An athletic performance shoe with an open toe and an open heal for improved ventilation and comfort. The body of the shoe should be of suitable flexible material, such as the “Flyknit” fabric used by Nike, Inc. The shoe should include standard laces for enclosing the user's foot in the shoe as the laces suitably secure the shoe about the foot. The interior of the shoe should include soft, malleable padding which forms to the user's foot such that users with wide feet, narrow feet, or other factors will be comfortable in the shoe and the shoe will form around their foot without slipping or uncomfortably compressing the foot. A preferred embodiment would have a thin, highly-flexible sole. The open toe and heel being the primary features of the shoe.
