摘要： A warming unit for warming a vessel for containing food or beverages, such as a coffee pot for an automatic drip coffee maker, reduces scorching and burning resulting from non-uniform heating of the vessel. The warming device has a support plate with an upper surface dimensioned to support the vessel and a perimeter skirt extending downwardly from a perimeter of the support plate to surround a heating element beneath the support plate. The upper surface includes raised support structures formed as dome-shaped structures thereon. The cooking vessel rests on and is supported by the top surfaces of the support structures in spaced relation to the plate thus creating a convection space which reduces thermal conductive heating and allows both convection heating and infrared heating. The support plate also comprises a thermal mass sufficient to dampen fluxuations of temperature at the upper surface. Vent holes through the top plate and perimeter skirt vent steam and vapors from underneath the support plate and facilitate convective warming of the vessel. An alternative embodiment may be constructed as an interface plate device with a flat plate dimensioned correspondingly to a hot plate of a conventional warming device for insertion between the hot plate and a cooking vessel.

摘要： The present invention relates generally to improvements in electrical heating units, and more particularly to improvements in electrical heating units of the type employing wafer-like material or sheets such as mica having an electrical heating coil associated therewith. The embodiment of the invention disclosed herein includes thin coplanar sheets of heat resistant, electrically non-conductive material such as mica, the outer peripheries of which in the aggregate generally define a circle. Diametral margins of said sheets are adjacently spaced and an electrical heating coil adjacently encircles said sheets. A terminal member is connected with each extremity of the coil, and suitable electrical insulating material adjacently superimposes opposite sides of the sheets. Means is provided for maintaining the sheets and insulating material in juxtaposition.

This invention uses a scale or scale type mechanism to continuously measure the amount of coffee remaining in the carafe then continuously adjusts the temperature of the heating unit based on the amount of coffee remaining. This invention is designed to prevent or slow the degradation in the taste of coffee that results from over-cooking coffee through prolonged exposure to an excessive amount heat. The invention also includes calibration adjustments that permit fine-tuning of temperature to accommodate individual preferences and/or various types/brands of carafes.

The electrical connection includes a first electrical power connection comprising an electrical output receptacle on the modular beverage brewing apparatus coupled to an electrical input receptacle on the companion modular unit for delivering electrical power from the modular brewing apparatus to the companion modular unit.

The brewing apparatus may include a removable cover which may be secured to the brewing apparatus by a suitable securing structure. When so installed, the securing structure is hidden within the warming station by a removable portion of the warming station.
