Adjustable seating devices for use in a hot tub are disclosed. Example adjustable seating devices, as disclosed herein, may include multiple panels that move relative to one another and/or relative to the hot tub frame to adjust between positions. In some embodiments, one or more panels of the disclosed adjustable seating device may include jets. The disclosed adjustable seating devices may be adjusted manually, hydraulically, air-actuated, or electronically.

An apparatus for applying traction force to a spine of a user has a chassis with an upper surface. A user lies on the upper surface with the spine extending generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of the chassis. Two members extend from the chassis on opposing sides of the longitudinal axis, each member being positioned to engage an armpit. A lever is pivotally attached to the chassis for rotation about a lateral axis, and a pad coupled to the lever contacts a proximal portion of each upper leg when the leg is bent forward at a hip joint. A force applied to the lever is transmitted through the pad to each upper leg and opposed by the members, thereby applying traction force for decompressing the spine. The force may be applied by the arms of the user or by a motor.

A massage system includes a tub containing a fluid. The tub is covered by a surface on which a person receiving a massage lays. A pump receives the fluid from the tub and delivers the fluid to an input of at least two zone control valves. An output of each of the zone control valves is in fluid communication with a corresponding zone of water jets; each located within the tub and aimed at the surface. A controller selectively signals the zone control valves to open and close, thereby providing massage pressure in an area aimed at by water jets of the zone associated with an open zone control valve.

This invention relates to hydrotherapy where a patient is placed in traction while immersed in a heated hydrotherapy pool. More specifically, a process and apparatus for hydrotherapy traction is disclosed in which the patient is placed in a horizontal supine position, and gradually moved to and from a position of immersed hydrotherapy traction in the heated hydrotherapy pool.

The present invention is for a controlled therapeutic traction device utilizing a warmed hypertonic solution or other fluid of sufficient specific gravity to float the patient in a relaxing, relatively weightless environment. Traction is applied to a portion of the patient's body using various means to apply tension to that portion of the body, while the remainder of the patient's body continues to be suspended in the fluid.

A hydromassage tub (1) allows the user to sit with a support for his/her head. The surfaces (5) for supporting the user (3) are shaped like waves in the cavities of which nozzles may -be disposed for the hydrojets, so as to maintain a slight distance from the user (3) and to allow these to be oriented to specific parts of the body. Medicaments or phytocosmetic substances may be injected along with the hydromassage jet by an assembly of containers, pumps and nozzles under the control of a switchboard. A display is located in front of the user (3) and is able to show the parameters and the development of the treatment and hydromassage processes. The hydromassage is performed under differentiated pressure in relation to the positions of nozzles (6) so as to obtain a higher pressure downwards and a progressively lower pressure upwards. The access to the tub is facilitated with the provision of a tight-seal door (9).

An apparatus for dislodging or loosening mucus in a person's lungs, for example of a sufferer of cystic fibrosis, comprises a bath arranged to receive the person and filled with water such that the person's chest is immersed in the water. A vibrator vibrates the liquid so that the vibrations are transmitted to the person's lungs. In use the vibrations are preferably at the pulmonary resonant frequency or Helmholtz resonant frequency of the person's lungs.
