摘要： A snowshoe comprises a frame defining a periphery of the snowshoe. A deck is secured in a stretched state to the frame, a cutout being defined in the deck. A binding is connected to at least one of the frame and the deck and being aligned with the cutout in the deck. A footwear support portion is adapted to receive footwear of a wearer and being pivotable relative to the deck along a pivoting range so as to allow a tip of the footwear to plunge through the cutout below a plane of the deck. An unbiased hinge is between the frame and/or the deck and the footwear support portion to allow unbiased movement of the footwear support portion in a proximal portion of the pivoting range. A biased hinge is between the frame and/or the deck and the footwear support portion to allow biased movement of the footwear support portion in a distal portion of the pivoting range.

A selective locked heel mode with locking ability directly on the mounting plate is disclosed. A first position wherein the boot mounting base may articulate in a walking motion on an axle pivot pin axis when connected to a ski touring device and a second position wherein the walking motion of the mounting base is prevented while connected to the ski touring device and a third position wherein the mounting base is not coupled to a ski device during mode transition.

摘要： A snowshoe including a unitary molded polymer deck having a bottom surface defining a toe portion and a heel portion. The toe portion is divided from the heel portion. A toe panel together with the toe portion defines a generally enclosed space into which a lighting module including a battery, a switch; electrical leads and at least one electrically illuminated light source. The light module is substantially contained in the enclosed space and the at least one electrically illuminated light source is located in at least one light source pocket that passes through a portion of the unitary molded polymer deck such that the electrically illuminated light source is visible from above the deck. The switch selectively completes a circuit between the battery and the electrically illuminated light source upon actuation.

摘要： A modular snow travel system for common footwear includes a first traction component which may be an overboot. The first traction component includes at least one traction cleat having latch, such as an exposed hook portion, for engagement with a snowdeck. The engagement is effected by a releasable locking mechanism on the snowdeck. The releasable locking mechanism includes a transversely movable slider and a longitudinally movable slider having contacting cam faces. The lateral position of the transverse slider determines the longitudinal position of the longitudinal slider so that the longitudinal slider could be moved longitudinally to and from a position where a catch on the longitudinal slider is engaged in the hook portion or is disengaged from the latch of the traction cleat.

The device may also include a plurality of wings coupled to the base member, the wings convertible between a skiing configuration in which the wings from a surface for gliding over snow and a snowshoe configuration in which the wings extend to increase the surface area of the base member.

The frame includes a peripheral component having a length, a height orthogonal to the length, and a width orthogonal to the height and at least two times shorter than the height at all locations along the height. The binding includes a strap, and a retention element coupleable with the strap. The retention element includes a body defining a main passage in which the strap is disposed when coupled with the retention element, an access passage through which the strap passes to enter the main passage, and a locking element to secure the strap to the retention element.
