    摘要: A milling cutter (100) comprising: a cartridge (33) that has a tip (32) fixed thereto; a body (10) that has a pocket (15) formed therein into which the cartridge (33) is inserted; and a fixing tool (40) that fixes the cartridge (33), wherein the body (10) has a fixing tool insertion hole (16) that is adjacent to the pocket (15) on the radial direction inner side thereof, and a partitioning wall (17) between the pocket (15) and the fixing tool insertion hole (16), the fixing tool (40) that has been inserted into the fixing tool insertion hole (16) exerts a radial direction outward force on the partitioning wall (17), the pocket (15) is formed so as to produce a counterforce that resists the radial direction outward force acting on the cartridge (33) via the partitioning wall (17), and the cartridge (33) is fixed in the pocket (15) on the basis of the radial direction outward force.

The cartridge includes a cutting insert that is exposed from the body for cutting. A method provides the cutting tool assembly and a method provides a prolonged life cutting tool assembly via replacement with a new wedge made of a carbon-based material.

    摘要: An insert rotary cutter incldues a cutter body having an axis of rotation therethrough. The cutter body has a plurality of pockets formed in one end thereof in circumferentially distributed relation. A plurality of support members are attached respectively to the pockets. Each of the support members has a recess being open radially and axially outwardly of the cutter body. A plurality of polygonal cutter inserts are positioned respectively in the recesses. The recesses have a depth of one third to two thirds of a thickness of the cutter insert. A plurality of clamp wedges respectively clamp the cutter inserts to the cutter body through the support members.

    摘要: A helical blade cutter including multiple linear blades attached to an outer circumferential surface of a round body having an outer surface formed into a cylindrical circumferential surface. The blades tilt to a given helix angle α from a straight line on the outer circumferential surface parallel to a rotational central axis O. Blade attachment surfaces are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the round body at given intervals in the circumferential direction. The blade attachment surfaces tilt to an angle same as the helix angle α of the blade while tilting to a rake angle β in a direction of an elevation angle from a tangent to the outer circumferential surface. The blades are each attached to a blade attachment part through intervention of a chip holder that allows detachment of the blade.
