Abstract: An auxiliary tool for assembling and disassembling a spark plug is used to assist the assembling and disassembling operation of the spark plug of a vehicle. The auxiliary tool comprises a spark plug sleeve, a flexible extender, and a rotating end portion. The spark plug sleeve is used to cover and rotate the spark plug. The flexible extender has flexibility and one end thereof is fixed on the spark plug sleeve. The rotating end portion is disposed on the other end of the flexible extender and detachably connected with a handle. In operation, the spark plug is firstly loosened by a conventional wrench, and the auxiliary tool then rotates the spark plug. The auxiliary tool is not limited by the limited engine space, so that the operational convenience of rotation operation can be increased and the operational time of assembling and disassembling the spark plug can be shortened.

Abstract: A spark plug removal tool apparatus and method for a spark plug having components of an extended smooth spark arc producing terminal portion, an adjacent helical threaded portion, an adjacent hex drive, an adjacent insulator portion, and a terminal electrical interface extension. The tool apparatus includes a non rotating collet extension having a plurality of fingers to removably engage the electrical interface and an inner surrounding sidewall that threadably engages the collet, also an outer surrounding sidewall rotatably engaged to the inner surrounding sidewall not having one-way axial movement as between the inner and outer surrounding sidewalls, wherein the collet, inner, and outer surrounding sidewalls are all co-axial. Operationally, when the tool starts to unscrew the spark plug from an engine head, an axial non-rotating force is applied to the electrical interface extension that helps prevent separating damage between the spark plug components.

Abstract: A tool for removal of a damaged spark/glow plug has an electrode end, an electrical connector end, and an insulator therebetween. Abstract: A tubular body member has an interior hexagon socket end arranged to freely receive the hexagon end base of a spark plug. An elongated groove is provided in the hexagon socket end which receives a leaf spring secured at one of its ends and arranged to engage a portion of the hexagon base of a spark plug for releasably holding the spark plug in the wrench. The tubular body member also has a body portion of reduced diameter relative to the hexagon socket end, such reduced diameter portion allowing the wrench to be worked in tight places. The interior of the reduced diameter tubular body member is of sufficient size to receive a spark plug insulator portion with clearance therearound, and this reduced portion and the socket end of the wrench are dimensioned and arranged whereby an interior juncture therebetween is adjacent the locking collar of a spark plug which is mounted in the wrench, whereby lateral movement of the wrench relative to a spark plug can only produce forces against the spark plug against the locking collar. The tubular body member has a square opening at its end opposite from the hexagon socket end arranged for engagement by a ratchet drive mechanism. The leaf spring is secured in the groove by upset metal portions of the groove.
