摘要： To provide a stapler for fastening even a large number of sheets of paper whether used as a desktop or hand-held stapler, there is provided a stapler having above a base portion a clincher portion where sheets of paper are placed and a housing portion including a magazine portion accommodating staples and a driving blade driving out the staples, including within the base portion a desk resting lever actuated when the base portion is placed on a desk, a plate which slides when the desk resting lever is actuated and a slider receiver, wherein with the base portion placed on the desk, the desk resting lever is actuated, causing the plate to slide to thereby cause the slider receiver integral with the plate to move slightly, so that the movement towards the base portion of the clincher portion operating in association with rotation of the handle portion is delayed.

The clincher is configured to engage the leading fastener during the drive stroke and move into a clinching position at the end of the drive stroke to clinch the fastener to the workpiece. A motor is configured to rotate a crank arm, and a connecting rod is pivotably connected to the mount at one end portion thereof and pivotably connected to the crank arm at an opposite end portion thereof.

The leg-flatting device is mounted on the supporting base and has a sliding base, a moving base and an anvil element. The sliding base is slidably mounted on the supporting base and has a pushed segment corresponding to and selectively pushed by the pushing arms. The moving base is selectively blocked by the sliding base to keep the moving base from moving downwardly before the sliding base sliding relative to the supporting base and has an elongated hole. The anvil element is mounted in the elongated hole in the moving base.
