摘要： Noise-abatement devices are provided for a pneumatic tool that can include a housing having a first end and a second end. An expansion chamber is defined within the expansion chamber. At least one tube is located at least partially within the expansion chamber in which the tube has at least a perforated portion, and an outlet defined therein. The device also includes a port outlet in fluid communication with the expansion chamber in which the port outlet and the outlet are located near the second end of the housing.

摘要： A muffler for a fluid-activated, percussive, impact apparatus includes a hollow, elongated shell, forming a closed exhaust chamber, extending lengthwise along a body of the apparatus, the shell partially encircling the body of the apparatus. The shell is removably attached to the body of the apparatus so that an inlet aperture in the shell coincides with an exhaust port of the apparatus. An adjustable deflector is positioned on the outlet aperture of the shell. The shell is provided from a flexible, plastic material.

摘要： A pneumatic hammer includes a cylinder tube, a piston received in the cylinder tube for reciprocation therein; a device for alternatingly introducing pressurized air into first and second cylinder chambers on either side of the piston for driving the piston back and forth and an exhaust arrangement for removing spent air from the cylinder into the ambient atmosphere. There is provided a coupling cylinder mounted within the hammer housing and generally coaxially surrounding the cylinder tube along a substantial length thereof. The support cylinder has a plurality of circumferentially distributed longitudinal ribs extending parallel to the cylinder tube. The longitudinal ribs are in contact with an inner surface of the housing and an outer surface of the cylinder tube. The longitudinal ribs define and bound a first longitudinal chamber which is in communication an air outlet port provided in the cylinder tube and a second longitudinal chamber communicating in series with the first longitudinal chamber and further communicating with an exhaust outlet provided in the housing.

摘要： An elastomer muffler for the exhaust of a pneumatic percussive tool, which comprises an outer and an inner side wall. The cross-sections of the side walls are C-shaped and the side walls are longitudinally unified for forming a cavity therebetween. The muffler is detachably mounted to the tool by resilient snap action. To advantage, the muffler may be used in connection with a pusher leg arrangement for a rock drill. The muffler, then, is mounted on the pusher leg and the inlet mouth thereof is arranged substantially concentrically with the axis of the hinge connection between the pusher leg and the rock drill but spaced axially from said hinge connection. The exhaust port of the rock drill is also substantially concentrically with the hinge connection but spaced axially therefrom.

摘要： A compressed air drill mounted and movable on a guide mast is presented wherein the guide mast is a boxlike structure having a plurality of openings to receive the exhaust from the drill. The guide mast forms part of a muffler and separator system wherein the drill exhaust is muffled and the oil is separated from the air to lubricate drill guides and a drive chain within the guide mast. A muffler element having two spaced plates is located in an expansion chamber between the exhaust ports on the drill and the guide mast. One of these plates is solid and acts as a baffle; the other of these plates is perforated and is placed adjacent to the openings in the guide mast whereby exhaust gases are deflected by the muffler structure and flow around the muffler structure and through the perforated plate.
