    Abstract: An injection-molding machine has a fixed and a movable outer platen bracketing a movable intermediate platen, the latter having a runner system conducted via an extensible or flexible conduit to a source of molten plastic material to be injected into cavities defined by respective pairs of mold portions supported by the three platens, the cavities being formed in part by cores carried on the outer mold portions. A stripper plate inserted between each pair of mold portions is articulated via a spring-loaded lost-motion link to a respective eccentric pin on a pinion which is rotatably mounted on the intermediate platen and meshes with a pair of racks respectively secured to the two outer platens; this linkage is duplicated on opposite sides of the mold. In an initial phase of a mold-opening stroke, the stripper plates move outwardly under spring pressure while remaining in contact with their respective outer mold portions whose cores still retain the freshly molded articles. When the limit of the lost-motion travel is reached, the stripper plates are slowly lifted off their adjoining mold portions to detach the molded articles from the cores.

    Abstract: A molded article ejection device for use in conjunction with a multistation molding machine. The multistation molding machine has at least a first molding station defined between a first mold platen and a second mold platen and a second molding station defined between the second mold platen and a third mold platen, a mechanism for opening and closing the molding stations, and tie bars for connecting the first, second and third mold platens. Ejection devices are used for ejecting molded articles from each of the first and second molding stations and a linkage is used for connecting a plurality of the ejection devices and translating movement of at least one ejection device to at least one other ejection device. A motive mechanism is used for actuating the ejection devices, wherein the motive mechanism is independent of the mechanism for opening and closing.

    Abstract: A molded article ejection device for use in conjunction with a multistation molding machine. The multistation molding machine has at least a first molding station defined between a first mold platen and a second mold platen and a second molding station defined between the second mold platen and a third mold platen, a mechanism for opening and closing the molding stations, and tie bars for connecting the first, second and third mold platens.     Abstract: Two pairs of lever arms, fulcrumed on one of two relatively movable mold portions, form part of an articulated linkage anchored to the other mold portion and connected with either a stripper plate between the two mold portions or an ejector plate behind the second mold portion. Upon the opening of the mold, the stripper or ejector plate moves relatively to the adjacent mold portion, in a direction discharging the molded articles from the mold cavities, at a rate substantially conforming to a Gaussian curve. A molding tool is disposed between one of the first and second platens and the intermediate plate.     Abstract: An injection mold assembly having mold members which are movable relative to one another between closed molding positions to permit injection molding of parts within mold cavities formed by the members and open positions to permit removal or ejection of the molded parts from the cavities. The mold members are interconnected by hydraulically interconnected and powered actuator means which effect opening and closing movement of the mold members in unison. The described mold assembly includes outer mold members comprising core plates having cores which project into cavities in a central mold member to to form the mold cavities when the mold is closed and stripper plates between the central member and core plates. The hydraulic actuator means interconnect the core and stripper plates and central mold member in such a way that full opening movement of the stripper plates relative to the core plates is delayed during opening of the mold assembly to delay stripping of molded articles from the mold cores until sufficient clearance exists between the cores and central mold member to assure dropping of the articles freely from the mold into an article receiving area below the mold assembly.
