The modular baskets could be used to hold items within a smaller compartment, and can be combined with the bottom basket to form a roll-able shopping cart having a larger compartment. Such a cart is advantageously used in a store, such as a grocery store, a retail shopping mall, or a home improvement store.

摘要： A collapsible shopping cart includes a collapsible support assembly having a support frame with a vertical frame member and a horizontal frame member. The vertical support member is pivotally secured to the horizontal support member allowing the support frame to be selectively folded. A plurality of wheels are coupled to the horizontal support member. The plurality of wheels are coupled to the horizontal support member for movement between a use orientation and a storage orientation, wherein when the plurality of wheels are in the use orientation they extend from the horizontal support member in a manner permitting engagement with a horizontal support surface such that the support assembly may roll thereupon. First and second storage receptacles shaped and dimensioned for selective attachment to the support assembly are provided.

摘要： A wheeled shopping cart with a rotatable rear panel or side is provided with a field-installable, field removable nest wire. Removing the nest wire enables the front portion of the wheeled shopping cart to be more compactly telescoped into the rotatable rear panel of another, similar shopping cart, the nest wire of which is removed. Installing the nest wire post-manufacture and at the location where the cart will be used enables multiple carts to be nested or telescoped into each other, more compactly than would be possible with the nest wire installed.

摘要： A shopping cart basket is attached to a frame having wheels using front and rear clips for attaching rim wires of a basket to a basket support member. The clips enable the basket to be assembled to the frame without requiring tools. A front clip is comprised of an upright body that is attached to the basket frame. A sloping surface on the clip urges a rigid wire of a basket sideways as the wire is moved downward. The rigid basket wire is captured into a rim wire receiving notch formed into the body. A rear clip receives two, joined-together wires when the two wires are oriented along their major dimension to fit into a slot that leads into a central figure-eight shaped lock.

摘要： Disclosed is a separable shopping basket and cart system, comprising a wheeled basket having sidewalls and a base forming a largely rectangular structure with an open upper, which is securable to a wheeled cart adapted to accept and support the basket in an elevated position while shopping within a store. The cart comprises a wheeled base, a basket-supporting frame and a user push handle. When shopping, the basket is joined with the cart for the collection and purchasing of goods, after which the basket is separated from the cart and taken to the user's car or transported to its intended location. Purchased articles are supported within the basket during transit, while the basket wheels and extended user handle allows the basket and contents to be pulled and not physically carried. The basket is further stowable, wherein the basket walls disconnect to fold into a planar, collapsed state.

Each mast includes a rear portion facing the rear portion of the cart and defining a generally straight surface, and a front portion facing in a direction generally opposite the rear portion of the respective mast and defining a generally concave curved portion. The basket includes a front portion and a rear portion with the rear portion of the basket connected to the base via the pair of masts to support the front portion of the basket in a vertically spaced relationship over the base adjacent the front portion of the cart.

The basket includes a frame including a plurality of generally vertical upright frame members spaced apart from each other, with each frame member including a generally smooth outer surface without holes. A pair of side panels extends generally vertically, being generally parallel to each other and spaced from each other. Each side panel extends from a front portion to a rear portion of the basket between two of the generally vertical upright frame members. The front panel and each side panel comprise a generally flat portion defining a plurality of holes and have a substantially uniform thickness at least about two times less than a thickness of the generally vertical upright frame members.
