    Abstract: A nestable merchandise cart including a rear frame and hinged side frames which pivot outwardly until limit stops are engaged, and a movable shelf which, when in place to support a load, locks the side frames into positions generally perpendicular to the rear frame. The shelf can be raised and stored, which releases the side frames to pivot outwardly and form a tapered nest into which a like cart will fit nestingly. The side frames may be biased outwardly by springs and pivot outwardly automatically when the shelf is raised, and may also pivot inwardly against the rear frame to a collapsed position suitable for high density packing and shipment of the cart.

    Abstract: An improved vehicle is provided in the form of a wheeled transport cart which may be towed in a train of similar carts for transporting groceries, or other commodities, around a warehouse, or the like. The transport cart of the invention is constructed with a hinged bottom which may be turned up when the cart is empty to permit the cart to be nested with similar carts when not in use so as to conserve space. When the bottom is turned down to receive a load, one of the wheels or casters is locked in a particular angular position to prevent the cart from zig-zaging or drifting when it is towed.

    Abstract: The improved latch is used for selectively securing and releasing a shelf in a storage unit. This improved latch includes a pivot leg, first and second connecting legs and a support leg. A spring or other biasing means is used between the pivot leg and a bolt of the hinge, and the latch is designed to rotate about the bolt of the hinge. The first connecting leg extends outside of the storage unit, and the second connecting leg extends through a respective side panel of the storage unit and connects the first connecting leg and the support leg. In operation, the upward moving shelf first pushes the latch out of the way and, after the shelf is moved completely upward, the latch springs back into position and the support leg holds the shelf firmly in position.

    Abstract: A wagon or trolley which is especially suited for the transport and distribution of piles of cartons or parcels of various sizes which are stacked directly on top of each other, comprising a substantially rectangular bottom and four mutually connected walls. A first wall is pivotally connected with the adjacent wall and serves as a door, the first wall being adapted to swing about a vertical axis so as to offer unrestricted loading access to the loading zone of the wagon when in open position. A second wall is provided with an upper door portion which in a removed or lowered position provides an additional access opening to the contents of the wagon without increasing the outer dimensions of the wagon, the lower portion of the second wall being permanently connected to its adjacent side walls and offering necessary safety for the objects in the wagon to be kept in position when the upper door portion of the second wall is opened. A third wall is made adjustable in the lateral direction so as to vary the size of the wagon depending on the floor space occupied by the pile of cartons or parcels to be held and transported in the wagon.
