    摘要: The present invention is directed to a method of altering the pitch of a propeller through localized bending of its blades. To alter the propeller's pitch the camber of at least one of its blades is changed by bending a portion of a trailing edge, a leading edge, or both edges relative to a remainder of the blade. A bent portion can be located away from a tip of the blade at a distance that is less than or substantially equal to 60% of a radius of the blade, and bending preferably commences at a distance in from an edge of a blade of up to 50% of a section width of the blade. The maximum preferable change in pitch at any location on the radius due to bending is 30%.

Within a propeller shaft, a hydraulic piston is provided which drives a rod, a plate, and levers to rotate the propeller blades in, and with respect to, the hub of the propeller. The root of the propeller within the hub has a conical portion which has a mating conical ring thereabout. This conical ring is engaged and locked into place with the conical portion of the propeller root and the propeller hub by hydraulic oil pressure, once the optimum pitch of the propeller blades is determined.

    摘要: There is described an assembly having a plurality of screws, a propeller and a related method for adjusting the fluid dynamic pitch of the blades of the propeller. The propeller has at least one blade pivoted rotatably to a cylindrical propeller casing, a hub coupled to an engine and mounted coaxially inside the propeller casing, a kinematic mechanism coupled to the hub and/or to the propeller casing, and to the blade for adjusting the fluid dynamic pitch of the propeller. The hub is rotatable with respect to the cylindrical propeller casing, or vice versa, for at least one non-zero angular interval (α) of operation of the kinematic mechanism for adjusting the fluid dynamic pitch and is also integral with a contact surface movable between disengagement from and engagement with, direct or indirect, at least one relative abutment integral with the cylindrical propeller casing which defines a limit stop of the angular interval (α). The plurality of screws has at least two different screws and the propeller has a seat for complete installation of a screw selected from the plurality of screws, and the limit stop abutment has a region of screw selected from the plurality of screws installed in the seat provided in the propeller.

    摘要: The invention relates to a propeller assembly, particularly suitable for use with axial flow pumps. The propeller assembly is provided with a cam-operated rotatable propeller blade compression shaft which rotates in response to a detected increase load on the propeller blade. An elongated rod connected to a power source transmits movement to a spring which, in turn, transmits the movement to the cam. To accommodate tilting of the propeller blade during changing of the pitch, a hub outer surface is formed convex and the inner surface of the enclosing shroud is formed concave. The radii of curvature of the hub and the shroud are generally complementary to the radius of curvature of the inner and outer surfaces of the propeller blade, respectively.
