摘要： The child-resistant nozzle cover is used to cover a nozzle cap of a nozzle assembly for a trigger sprayer having a body, the nozzle assembly including a nose bushing at a front end of the body, the nozzle cap being rotatably mounted on the nose bushing of the sprayer, and the nozzle cap having a proximal end, a distal end including a generally annular rear edge, and an outer surface. The cover comprises a generally annular hood substantially covering the outer surface of the nozzle cap, being rotatable about the nozzle cap and nose bushing and having a proximal end, a distal end, an outer peripheral surface and an inner generally annular surface. Retaining structure is provided at the proximal end of the hood for retaining the hood on the nozzle assembly. The hood is made of flexible or resilient material so that upon applying sufficient radial forces to the hood generally on a diameter extending transversely of the hood, the hood becomes distorted and frictionally engages the nozzle cap whereby the nozzle cap can be rotated by rotating the hood then engaging the nozzle cap.

摘要： An assembly of a container (1) and a child resistant closure (5) therefor. The container (1) has an external bead (3) on the neck (2) thereof and the closure (5) an inturned flange (8) on the skirt (7) thereof which makes snap engagement with the bead (3). The neck (2) of the container (1) comprises an external screw thread (4) while the skirt (7) of the closure (5) is locally severed or weakened to provide local deformable skirt portions (11) which can be deformed inwards by finger pressure thereon to enage thread portions (13) on the skirt portions (11) with the screw thread (4). The closure (5) is removable from the container (1) by deforming the skirt portions (11) to engage the thread portions (13) with the screw thread (4) by finger pressure thereon and rotating the closure (5) relative to the container (1) while maintaining said finger pressure.

摘要： There is disclosed a closure for a container for fluent substances which may be harmful if ingested, especially by a child of tender years. The closure consists of two parts: one is secured to that portion of the container which defines the pouring opening and the other is manipulatable with respect to the first to open and close the opening. The parts have respective elements, at least one of which is helical, adapted to be engaged upon relative rotary movement to open the pouring opening but so arranged and constructed that the rotary movement must be accompanied by sustained digital squeezing force on two opposite sides of the movable part in order that rotary movement results also in axial movement. Such axial movement thereby disengages a bead and groove connection normally maintaining the two parts in fluid-tight relation. Re-engagement is obtained by simple axial thrust of the movable part on to the other. In one aspect the exterior configuration of the movable part is frustoconical to render it more difficult for a child to grasp and pull.

The bottle includes a body defining a storage chamber, a neck extending away from the body and defining an opening opposite and providing access to the body, and a pair of opposed ledges each extending radially outwardly from the neck and spaced from the body. The neck includes threads extending around an outside surface of the neck, and the pair of opposed ledges are positioned between the body and the threads. The ring defines an interior wall, an exterior wall, and a pair of opposed indentations radially extending through the interior wall toward the exterior wall. The ring is positioned around the neck with the pair of opposed indentations positioned adjacent the pair of opposed ledges such that interaction between the pair of opposed indentations and the pair of opposed ledges maintains the ring in position relative to the bottle.
