Abstract:
A sheet feeding device includes a first roller that draws a recording medium at a first position and feeds the recording medium; a friction pad that comes into contact with the first roller with a predetermined contact pressure at a second position that is close to and downstream of the first position in a conveying direction of the recording medium and nips the recording medium with the first roller to convey the recording medium in the conveying direction; and a second roller that comes into contact with the first roller at a third position that is close to and downstream of the second position in the conveying direction and nips the recording medium with the first roller.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for picking media in inkjet printers using a non-linear system, so that only a single sheet of media is drawn into the printer for printing. Inkjet printers operate by drawing media into the printer for printing. Two coil springs, arranged in parallel, support the pressure plate to bring media stack in contact with the pick roller. At full media stack, both coils are compressed; at low media stack, only one spring is compressed, the other is uncompressed, thus providing sufficient contact pressure between media and pick roller.

Abstract:
A sheet feeding device includes a side face of a device body and a bypass tray. The bypass tray is supported turnably around a fulcrum part in the side face between a close position along the side face and an open position held at a predetermined angle with the side face. The bypass tray includes a locked piece having a locked hole. The side face includes a locking hook engaging with the locked piece when the bypass tray is at the close position. The locking hook includes an elastically deformable arm part, an engaging protrusion part protruded inwardly from a distal end of the arm part in a width direction of a sheet to insert into the locked hole, and a regulating part coming into contact with an opening edge of the locked hole to regulate an insertion amount of the engaging protrusion part to the locked hole.
Abstract:
An attachment assist device includes an engaging member, an engaged member, a drawing-force generator, biasing members, and rotational members. The engaging member is provided at one of a main unit and a sub unit detachably attached to the main unit. The engaged member is engaged by the engaging member and provided at the other of the main unit and the sub unit. The drawing-force generator generates a drawing force to draw the sub unit into an interior of the main unit. The biasing members are provided at the drawing-force generator to generate biasing forces in different directions. The rotational members are provided rotatably around support points at the drawing-force generator and engaged with the biasing members. The biasing members are serially connected with the rotational members to convert the biasing forces of the biasing members to the drawing force.
