摘要: A method of loading a stack of sheet stock material for use by a dunnage conversion machine, includes the following steps: (i) providing first and second stacks, the second stack being protected by a carrier having a central portion and longitudinally-spaced extensions that bound a central portion, the extensions and the central portion being joined along a weakened area defining a tear line, the central portion and the longitudinally-spaced extensions forming a planar bottom panel and a planar side panel, each panel extending substantially the length of the stack, and at a right angle to each other about a fold line over a bottom and an adjacent side of the stack, and one or more bale ties longitudinally inwardly of the tear lines holding the carrier to the stack; (ii) removing the extensions from the carrier; (iii) setting the second stack on top of the first stack; and (iv) removing the bale ties and the carrier, whereby an adhesive bonds the top page of the first stack to the bottom page of the second stack.

摘要: Two movable members, one on either side of a pre-folded continuous form entering a paper stacking area, are driven according to a determined position of the pre-folded form to push a leading edge of the form to one or another side of the stacking area so that the folds in the form will develop correctly in a stack. Only one of the members is permitted to contact the form at any time, and the members are separated by a sufficient angle so that no position of the members permits both members to contact the form. After directing the first and second sheets of the form, the members return to a home position in which neither member obstructs or interferes with subsequent stacking of the form. The position of the pre-folded form may be determined by a leading edge sensor, by a sheet feed rate sensor, by a fold position sensor, by a fold orientation sensor, by timing from a predetermined position, or by manual input. When a fold detector orientation sensor is used, the leading edge is appropriately directed to one or another side of the stacking area depending on the orientation of the folds detected in the form. The fold orientation sensor may use the properties of the stiffness of the continuous form and fold memory to detect the orientation of a fold.

摘要: An exemplified object of the present invention is to provide a guide mechanism, paper feed control method, and image-forming device that can prevent a jam or image degradation from occurring. The guide mechanism of the present invention comprises a guide part that guides continuous paper from a paper feeder part storing the continuous paper to a conveyor part while regulating a conveyance route of the continuous paper, and a driving part that drives the guide part and the paper feeder part to move relatively and automatically according to a storage amount of the continuous paper in the paper feeder part.

摘要: In a universal document feeder with which either conventional cut sheet documents or computer form (CF) web fan-folded documents may be fed to an imaging station, with an upper document loading tray with an associated feeder, but also having a separate side feeding entrance for feeding computer form web to the imaging station, there is provided a CF guide such as a bail pivotally mounted to the document feeder with a web guide surface positionable substantially above the upper document loading tray and adjacent the side of the document feeder having the side feeder entrance. This forms guide provides a path thereover for unfolding and upwardly feeding out CF which is fan-fold stacked in the upper document tray, and then downwardly in a path to the side entrance feeder, defining a web slack loop. The forms guide is spring mounted to pivot in response to variations in web forces, to ensure that the web is pulled gently and unfolds without tearing as, and after, it is pulled by the side entrance feeder, thus enabling the same (RDH) tray to be used for inputting CF as is already provided for normal documents, rather than a separate tray. A latch may be provided for latching the forms guide down in an inoperative storage position substantially flush with the top of the document feeder. The entire bail member is preferably outside of the area of this tray at all times, to provide unobstructed access thereto.

摘要: An automatic duplicating system in which computer fanfold documents are fed by an automatic handling apparatus having a tractor and drive control system for advancing the document across the platen of the processor for the system. An arrangement is provided which will shut down the system in the event there is a break in the fanfold material during a reproduction run or the end of the document has been attained during normal operation. Sensing devices are utilized in the path of movement of the document and a circuit is provided to produce a train of pulses in accordance with the movement of the document. The frequency of the train of pulses is compared with a reference frequency to insure proper operation.

摘要: A system is described relating to the feeding of raw materials into a machine that converts the raw materials into a packaging template. The system may use raw packaging materials and supply the raw materials to a converting mechanism using an infeed wheel. The infeed wheel may rotate and have a number of edges that engage the raw materials. Raw materials of one form used may include fanfold material that has existing fold or score lines that define opposing boundaries of the fanfold material, but which allow separate layers to remain connected. As the infeed wheel rotates, the edges engage the raw materials, and can engage the existing fold or score lines. Some edges may engage at locations between existing fold or score lines, and can crease the raw materials.

摘要: A package of a strip of material has a plurality of parallel side by side stacks each containing a length of the strip which is folded back and forth such that each folded portion of the stack is folded relative to the next portion about a line transverse to the strip. Preferably, the side edges of the strip portions are aligned. The strip can be continuous through each stack and connected by a splice from the end of one stack to beginning of the next stack. To reduce the height of the stacks, the package is compressed and maintained in the compressed condition by, for example, an evacuated sealed bag. The strip of each stack is formed to have a varying width, for example to form diaper inserts when the strip is cut into individual strip elements. The length of each strip portion of the stack is arranged to equal a whole number of strip elements so that the cut lines can be arranged at the fold lines. The stacks are arranged with the side edges of the strips aligned and the wider parts of one stack nested within a narrower part of the next adjacent stack to minimize the package dimensions.
