摘要： The invention relates to a device in a riding saddle for fixing stirrup leathers (5) belonging to the saddle. The device comprises a safety element (1) on each side of the saddle, these being designed as a mirror image of one another and fitted to the saddle. Each safety element comprises an arm (1a), which at its remote end has a pivoted locking pin (1b). The arm (1a) when riding is directed essentially horizontally backwards with the locking pin (1b) pointing upwards in order in normal riding to prevent a stirrup leather, running over the arm (1a), from leaving this. Under increased stress as a result of abnormal circumstances the locking pin (1b) is bent backwards, thereby allowing the stirrup leather (5) to be released. The device further comprises a sleeve (4) that can be threaded on the arm (1a) and having a cut-out (4a), in which the stirrup leather (5) can be connected. The sleeve (4) at its end facing the remote end of the arm (1a) has a projection (4b). This is designed in normal riding to bear against the outer end (1b1) of the upwardly directed locking pin (1b), but under abnormal circumstances is bent backwards. This allows the sleeve (4) to slip off the arm (1a) thereby freeing each stirrup from the saddle.

摘要： A safety stirrup detachably connected to the stirrup-leather in order to release the rider's foot in the event of a fall comprises a coupling device having two jaws for clamping the top portion of the stirrup head. A forward pivotal displacement of the stirrup with respect to the stirrup-leather causes rotation of a cam provided at the upper end of the stirrup head. The two jaws are opened-out by a top wedge of the cam through an angle of approximately 30.degree. to 45.degree. while a bottom wedge of the cam increases the separation of the jaws, thus releasing the stirrup.

摘要： A safety stirrup for horse riding has a buckle (1) designed to be attached to a stirrup leather, a stirrup having an overall arch shape in which a rider inserts a foot in an insertion direction substantially perpendicular to the plane containing the arch, with a tread on the lower portion onto which a rider can place his foot, and at least one lateral branch (21, 22) linking said tread to a head (23) of the stirrup, and a device for attaching the head (23) of the stirrup to the buckle (1) that is designed to enable the stirrup to detach completely from the buckle (1) in the event of a fall. The attachment device includes a mechanism (3) for clipping the stirrup to the buckle (1) including at least one elastic element (31) designed to cooperate with at least one relief (13, 14) provided on a corresponding surface to prevent the stirrup from unclipping from the buckle (1), and a lower end of the buckle (1) and the head (23) of the stirrup cooperating via curved sliding surfaces (11a, 12a, 27) to enable, before unclipping and/or complete detachment of the stirrup and of the buckle (1), a relative rotation of the stirrup and of the buckle (1) in said insertion direction of a foot of the rider in the stirrup.
