摘要: A compression-molded candle product having multiple layers and method of maufacture thereof are disclosed. The candle may be optionally configured to dispense one or more volatile additives. The additive may be fragrances, sanitization agents, deodorants, insect control compounds or any other volatile material, or mixture thereof. The candle may optionally have separate colorants in each layer.

摘要: A candle mold comprising a flat base having a transparent cylinder extending upwardly therefrom. The transparent cylinder is adapted to receive a previously molded inner candle core therein which has a smaller diameter than the cylinder. The flat base has a central opening formed therein to permit the wick of the inner candle core to be extended downwardly therethrough. The flat base also has means thereon for securing the wick thereto. A wick holder bar is detachably secured to and extends across the upper end of the cylinder. The bar has a central opening formed therein which receives the upper end of the wick of the inner candle core. The bar also has means thereon for permitting the wick to be secured thereto.

摘要: The present invention discloses a novel candle body composition for colored flame candles, which can be directly press-molded or provided in any containers in a form of bulk materials and combined with a candle combustion wick to form a colored flame candle. The candle body composition according to the present invention is also suitable for DIY articles. Compared with conventional solid colored flame candles, the colored flame candle according to the present invention can be manufactured in a simple manner, with the heat shaping step being dispensed with and the problem of environmental pollution being largely avoided. Furthermore, the colored flame candle according to the present invention has a good ignition property, a pure and sharp flame and a high retention of flame, and is an environmentally friendly product.

摘要: To form a candle blank, a volume of hot liquid candle wax is injected into a generally cylindrical chamber having a length and a diameter. The hot liquid candle wax is then cooled and the length of the generally cylindrical chamber is reduced as the wax cools, so that the volume of the chamber remains substantially that of the volume of the shrinking wax. By operating in this manner, there is no room for a void to form. An apparatus to carry out the process comprises a block, a piston, a gate, a means to inject the wax, and a means to move the piston so that it follows the shrinkage of the wax as it solidifies. The block defines a generally cylindrical mold chamber for the candle blank. The mold chamber has a generally vertically positioned longitudinal axis, an upper end, and a lower end. The piston is positioned in the chamber to slide from the upper end to the lower end of the chamber. The gate is positioned at a lower end of the chamber. The gate is pivotally mounted to the block so as to move from a first position which seals the lower end of the chamber to a second position in which the gate does not impede the ejection of the candle blank from the chamber.

摘要: A method and apparatus for forming a candle from a particulate wax material utilizes a compressive force of at least 2,000 p.s.i. to form the material into a self-sustaining body for a freestanding candle comparable in strength and appearance to a cast candle of the same size. The extremely high pressure forms the particulate material into a candle body wherein the amount of entrapped air is minimized for maximum color density and elimination of granular surface appearance as opposed to prior methods of compression molding where only partial compression resulted in candles each having a surface where the particulate nature of the starting wax material is clearly visually evident. The method is carried out utilizing an open-ended mold, one end of which has been closed and into which a wick rod has been inserted for forming a wick hole in the candle blank. Particulate wax material is introduced into the mold and a piston is moved against the material under a pressure of 2,000 to 10,000 p.s.i. The closed end of the mold is then opened after which the candle blank is ejected. A candlewick is then inserted into the hole in the blank to complete the candle.
