Abstract:
A circular knitting machine comprises a needle cylinder (2) and/or a dial (4) and a cam system (6, 7) associated therewith, said cam system having adjustable cam system parts (32, 33), which are preferably adjustable by rotatable eccentric studs (38) associated therewith. The circular knitting machine moreover comprises in accordance with the invention a setting device (48) which includes actuating members (58) for the eccentric pins (38), wherein the actuating members (58) and the eccentric pins (38) are provided with coupling elements (39, 72), which can be brought into engagement with one another in a defined coupling position. The setting of the cam system parts (32, 33) is effected in that the actuating members (58) are moved suitably after arrangement of the coupling position. The invention further relates to a setting device for this purpose, which can be attached removably to the circular knitting machine. (FIG. 4).
Abstract:
A circular knitting machine having a needle selection device and a device for axially shifting needles which has an axially movable cam. The axially movable cam defines a contour and is movable to three levels corresponding to a knitting position, a tuck position, and a float position. The device is arranged in correspondence with the feed stations of a circular knitting machine, such that butts of needles not moved into operation by jacks traverse the contour of the axially movable cam. The contour raises the needles not moved into operation by the jacks with a substantial delay with respect to other needles moved into operation by the jacks under control of the needle selection device.
Abstract:
A knitting machine has a bed, knitting implements which are mounted displaceably in the bed and which each have at least an operating and a pivotably first control butt, and at least one patterning arrangement which has a cam portion intended for guiding the butts, with at least one respective non-knitting, tuck and knitting track formed by cam member, and a selector intended for pivoting the control butts, by means of which the butts are distributed to a respective one of said tracks. The selector has a first control unit for controlling selected knitting implements into the non-knitting track and a second control unit for selectively distributing the other knitting implements to the tuck or knitting track.
Abstract:
A knitting machine has at least one bed with a plurality of lands forming tricks for supporting knitting implements, and a cam arrangement for controlling the knitting implements and including a cam plate, at least one carrier mounted to the cam plate at a fixed spacing from the bed, at least one cam portion and a mounting element for non-rotatably mounting the cam portion to the carrier. The mounting element is disposed on the carrier and consists of a sliding guide for loosely and displaceably mounting to cam portion to the carrier with a sliding fit and without the use of fixing element. The sliding guide is formed and extends toward the bed in such a way in a dismantled condition of the carrier a fitting or a removal of the cam portion from a front of the carrier is permitted and that in a mounted condition of the carrier sliding movements of the cam portion toward the bed are possible, which sliding movements are restricted on one side by the carrier and on the other side by the lands of the bed or by the knitting implement, whereas in all directions normal to the sliding movements the cam portion is fixedly positioned by the sliding guide.
Abstract:
A patterning device for a circular knitting machine which is particularly adapted for quick style changes. The device comprises a rotor element with a plurality of lobes around the periphery thereof, a drive motor for rotating the rotor element in synchronous rotational movement with the needle cylinder, and a control for actuating the drive motor according to a predetermined program in order to determine which of the lobes will be brought into registry with a respective needle jack to force it out of engagement with the cam and which of the lobes will be caused to miss a respective needle jack and thereby allow the jack to be cammed.
Abstract:
In a flat knitting machine with knitting needles which have flexible shanksnd which are arranged in the needle channels of the needle beds, the flexible shanks of the knitting needles are each engaged from below in the region of an operating butt of the needle by a flexible shank of a Jacquard jack whose shank can be held either in an upper or in a lower position with respect to the needle bed. Selectively actuatable selection flaps are provided for selective extension of the Jacquard jacks into positions in which the needles can form stitches or tuck loops. In order to be able to withdraw the needles selectively to different withdrawn depths, the needles each have a further operating butt, additional withdrawal cam elements are provided on the knitting cam unit for engagement with the further operating butts, additional pressure cam elements are provided on the knitting cam unit in the region of the additional withdrawal cam elements to depress the first operating butts into the needle bed, and selectively actuatable selection flaps are provided for selective withdrawal of the Jacquard jacks into a position in which the first operating butts of the needles are not engageable by withdrawal cam elements.
Abstract:
A single or double cylinder circular knitting machine is adapted to effect renewal of a needle selection at one or more successive yarn feeds without requiring a respective pattern selection device therefor. The pattern jacks which have been selected, by a preceding pattern selection device, not to bring their respective needles to knit are moved radially inwards by a guiding cam, and are held separated from the other jacks even after the latter have brought their respective needles to knit. The cam may have a first movable part and a second fixed part. At one position of the movable part, the inoperative jacks are moved radially to the inside of the fixed part, and at the second position thereof, radially to the outside thereof, thereby they are restored to the selection position. This allows operation with a programmed selection even where the selection was formerly just reiterated.
