    摘要: A sewing machine includes a needle bar turning apparatus. The apparatus includes: a needle bar holder swingably held with a fulcrum point as the center of rotation; a swing rod connected to the needle bar holder to transmit a driving force that swings the needle bar holder; a needle bar held by the needle bar holder, which is slidable along the axis and turnable with the axis as the center of rotation, and swingable together with the needle bar holder; a coupling member fixed to the needle bar such that it extends in a direction orthogonal to the needle bar; a guide shaft that extends along the needle bar; and a guide shaft connecting bracket fitted to the coupling member and the guide shaft such that it is movable relative to the coupling member in the coupling member extending direction, and turnable relative to the coupling member with a vertical line extending in the extending direction as the center of rotation.

    摘要: In a method for controlling sewing operation of a sewing machine, a stitch needle completes an in-and-out movement on a fabric with a first tension applied to an upper thread when the stitch needle, with respect to a fabric-feeding mechanism, is at a first relative position corresponding to a first pattern part of a predetermined stitch pattern. Afterward, the stitch needle is moved, with respect to the fabric-feeding mechanism, to a second relative position corresponding to a second pattern part of the predetermined stitch pattern, and completes an in-and-out movement on the fabric at the second relative position with a second tension, which is greater than the first tension, applied to the upper thread.

    摘要: The invention provides a magnifier for a sewing machine that is mounted on a sewing machine main body and magnifies a view of a front end of a needle which is mounted on a needle bar front end that moves vertically and a vicinity of a cloth presser.The magnifier includes: a supporting arm part A, at one end of which a lens holding part 2 having a holding unit 4 that detachably holds a lens is provided, and at the other end of which a mounting part 3 for mounting the magnifier on the sewing machine main body is provided; and a lens main body B that is constituted by connected part 6 which is detachable to the lens holding part 2, and a lens part 5 which is formed continuously to the connected part 6. To the lens holding part 2 of the supporting arm part A as well as the lens main body B, a turning control unit 7 is provided which controls a turning angle of the lens main body B in a predetermined range, and the turning control unit 7 controls a turning angle of the lens main body B that is mounted on the lens holding part 2, in a predetermined range.

    摘要: A sewing machine has a vertical needle bar pivotable about a point thereon adjacent the upper end and moveable up and down. A sewing needle is detachably secured to the lower end of the bar and has an eye adjacent its lower end. The machine has an adjustable stitch width and, during its operation at a preset width, satisfies the requirement that the eye must be continuously properly positioned with respect to the machine hook at all times. The eye is vertically aligned with the hook point when the eye is in proximity of the hook, so as to insure reliable stitch formation at any selected stitch width. An arrangement for maintaining such proper positioning employs a first stop secured to the bar at a first location thereon intermediate its ends. A second stop is secured to the bar at a second and lower position intermediate its ends. A member is slidable along and is disposed on the bar in the space between the two stops. A spring is disposed on the bar between the first stop and the member. The member when moved upward to engage the spring causing the spring to exert a force on the first stop which moves the bar upwardly. The amount of upward movement of the bar is monotonically related to the amount of upward movement of the member. A device responsive to the movement of the hook engages the member to move the member upward in such manner as to maintain said proper positioning. The device includes a mechanism for pivoting the needle bar as required for zig zag operation and a stationary element disposed between the second stop and the member.

    摘要: A sewing machine has a bed housing having a needle penetrating hole at one end thereof, an arm housing rising from the other end of the bed housing and extending to the one end of the bed housing over the bed housing, a laterally-long needle bar arm rotatably held in the arm housing and having a needle at the front end thereof, and a drive unit for swinging the needle bar arm with respect to the bed housing accommodated in the bed housing. The arrangement of the laterally-long needle bar arm and the drive unit accommodated in the bed housing, can effectively reduce the overall height of the sewing machine. It further reduces the weight and cost of the sewing machine, since no conventional material, such as cast iron having a heavy weight is used and die cast aluminum associating with a higher cost, may be employed for producing the arm housing.
