摘要:
Shirt-like garments can be stretched from the inside and pressed with an inflatable body that has a trunk part and two sleeve segments by inflating the inflatable body. Since the sleeves of the garments have different cross sections, deformation of the trunk section can take place in the area of the connecting points between the trunk section and the sleeve segments when the sleeves are small. On the other hand, if the sleeves are large, insufficient tensioning the sleeve segments can occur, thereby leading to bad pressing results. In order to be able to press a wider range of different cross sections of sleeves, the cross section of the sleeve segments is smaller in the connecting points than in the area adjacent the connecting points. Advantageously, the sleeve segments expand beyond the connecting points to their maximum cross section within a very small area.

Apparatus to open and press the inner and outer seams of pants legs comprising two bucks having convex surfaces over which pants legs are stretched to separate flaps of the seams which lie substantially flat. Two pressing heads, suspended over the bucks, move downwardly to steam press the seam open. The bucks are secured on a head which is secured to a hollow shaft such that the head and shaft are rotated 180* to reverse the position of the bucks. A vacuum is drawn through the bucks having apertures formed in the convex surfaces thereof such that steam is drawn through the legs of the pants into hollow compartments within the bucks and vacated therefrom.

A device for removing the wrinkles from the sleeve of a garment. A working surface defines a plurality of openings. Each of first and second sleeve holders are secured proximate an opening at a proximal end of each sleeve holder. First and second air bags are each configured to substantially surround a cooperating sleeve holder. Each sleeve holder and cooperating air bag is adapted to be received within a sleeve of the garment to extend the sleeve from the working surface. In one embodiment, a steam transfer device is configured to selectively transfer steam into each air bag and outwardly through each air bag to an interior surface of the sleeve. In another embodiment, a heated air transfer device is configured to selectively transfer heated air into each air bag and outwardly through each air bag to an interior surface of the sleeve.

Apparatus for accurately and fully finishing or pressing garments is shown that employs a motor-driven air blower whose motor has automatic braking means for substantially instantly stopping it when de-energized, and that has an electrical heater for air being supplied by the blower to the atmosphere of a permeable bag along which a garment is to be positioned. Side-mounted pairs of upper and lower creasing blades are operated to expand and contract and are provided with electrical heating means along their lengths for directly applying creasing heat. Steam is supplied to a piping system which extends along and within the permeable bag for both applying heat indirectly and applying periodic bursts of steam directly to the inside of the garment being finished. Steam from the indirect heat application is then passed through a heat exchanger for applying its residual heat to preliminarily heat air being supplied by the blower.
