    摘要: Edge protectors are useful to be cast into the edges of concrete slabs to prevent spalling thereof after shrinkage has occurred and a gap has formed between adjacent slabs. An alternative edge protector (10) is described which comprises a first folded sheet having, in use, an upper (35) and a lower portion (25), the fold being on a first side of the first folded sheet and being alignable, in use, with the sidewall of the slab, the upper portion being planar and being arrangeable, in use, with its upper surface coplanar with the upper surface of the slab, the lower portion extending at least partially under the upper portion in a direction away from the fold, and continuing from the end of the lower portion in the same general direction, without any further folds or bends greater than 90 degrees, as an anchor portion (20) such that the anchor portion is arrangeable within the slab.

    摘要: A vinyl-based floor tile is disclosed for constructing a floating and groutable floor covering. The vinyl-based floor tile has a decorative upper surface and a lower surface for support the floor tile. On one edge of the floor tile is a male coupling member having a vertical insert and an opposing edge has a female coupling member that has two or more grooves for accepting the vertical insert of a male coupling member of an adjacent floor tile. The grooves determine the width of a grouting channel that is formed between the edges of the adjacent tiles and a grout-accepting surface on the top surface of either the male or female coupling member. The decorative upper surface of the tile can have a removable protective layer that protects the vinyl tile during the installation and grouting process.

    摘要: An expansion joint and seal is provided that is adapted for adherence to a wall and floor interface. The joint is operative to seal the interface such that self-leveling materials cannot flow between the wall and the floor. When adhered to the interface, a compressive member may be disposed coincidental to the wall. This compressive member allows for expansion of solidified self-leveling materials relative to the wall. In one arrangement, the joint and seal utilizes a flexible sheet member having a bottom surface that is adapted for adherence to the interface of a wall and floor. A compressible member is attached to the top surface of the flexible sheet member. The bottom surface of the flexible sheet member may also include a peel-away release member that covers an adhesive disposed on the bottom surface.

    摘要: An apparatus for forming concrete includes a form having a slot configured to closely receive a plate. The slot is defined by one or more annular surfaces having central axes perpendicular to a direction in which the slot receives the plate. A method for forming same includes providing a sheet of form material; disposing a release layer on the sheet; cutting the sheet into a plurality of forms having a predetermined form height; and cutting a slot in each of each of the plurality of forms. Another apparatus for forming concrete includes a plate having a first portion and a second portion. A coating is disposed on the first portion. When disposed in a joint defined by a first volume of concrete and a second volume of concrete, the first volume of concrete adheres only to the coating and the second volume of concrete adheres only to the second portion. A method for forming concrete includes providing a plate having a coated first portion and a second portion; providing a form having a slot configured to closely receive the second portion; inserting the second portion in the slot; positioning the form to receive concrete; pouring a volume of concrete on the form and the first portion; curing the volume of concrete and defining cured concrete; and removing the form from the cured concrete. The plate remains in the cured concrete.
