    摘要： A safety device used on pianos to prevent the slamming of keyboard lid. Present invention uses a suction cup with a rod that can be folded down, so that it takes up very limited room, when it rod is down. When in use, if the piano keyboard lid is tilted towards the closing position, a rubber roller on top of the rod will contact the inner surface of the lid and stop the falling motion, preventing injuries to piano player's hand or fingers. The inner 90-degree angle of the lid will serve as a catch-well for the rubber roller to prop up the lid.

    摘要： A safety device used on pianos to prevent the slamming of keyboard lid.     摘要： An apparatus for holding open a door or similar member for a predetermined time period includes a suction mechanism coupled to the door and the door frame. The suction mechanism includes an adjustable valve to provide a controlled flow of air to release the suction. The mechanism includes an arm having a suction cup at one end and a suction plate pivotally connected to the arm for engaging the suction cup when the door is in the open position. The suction mechanism is attached to the inner surface of the door and the necessary relative motions of parts achieved by an articulated connecting rod and suction cup pad assembly are pivotally attached to the adjacent door frame. The articulated assembly permits the face of the suction cup and its target to be parallel to the door in the open and closed positions. The arm is connected to a spring loaded mounting assembly so that the door's maximum opening limitation is dictated by the spring closing mechanism or other motion limiting device.

The suction cup will hold to the glass for up to 3 months and dual suction plugs may be used for added security. The body is designed to tip and press the suction cup down to prevent sliding and thereby hold the stop assembly in place even when a strong horizontal force is applied. The body contains an alarm to discourage intruders in the event that the stop is dislodged from the door.

A preferred embodiment includes a generally U-shaped lower portion extending in a first direction from the vertical body, and a generally right triangle shaped upper portion of which the back of the right triangle shape is parallel to the vertical body and the base of the right triangle shape is perpendicular to and extending in a second and opposite direction from the vertical body. The back of the right triangle shape is fastened to the vertical body for added strength and a suction cup or other device is attached to the window side of the upper portion of the vertical body to keep it in a vertical position when the window is closed.
