    摘要: A scraper ring for a piston includes a top surface, a bottom surface, an inner surface, and an outer surface. The top surface has a first planar portion and a first angled portion. The bottom surface has a second planar portion and a second angled portion. The second angled portion is configured to slidably contact the first angled portion to adjust a diameter of the scraper ring. The inner surface connects the top surface to the bottom surface. The outer surface is opposite to the top surface and is configured to form 360 degrees of contact with a wall of a cylinder to substantially limit an amount of oil entering a combustion chamber of the cylinder.

    摘要: Provided is an oil ring (13) for a piston assembly that can minimize the frictional resistance without impairing the oil control function such as the scraping of lubricating oil from the cylinder wall surface by the oil ring. The oil ring consists of an upper side rail (16), a lower side rail (17) and an annular expander (18) interposed between the two side rails, and is received in an oil ring groove (8) with a prescribed vertical clearance (20) that permits tilting of the side rails. An outer peripheral surface (16E, 17E) of each side rail is provided with a radially inward slant. Therefore, during the upward stroke of the piston, the upper side rail tilts in the radially outward direction so that the effective slant angle of the outer peripheral surface of the upper side ring is adjusted to an optimum value.

    摘要: A lubrication system for an internal combustion engine is described that includes a scraper ring with an oil collector located immediately beneath an upper piston ring on a reciprocating piston. The scraper ring serves to deposit oil onto the inner surface of the upper cylinder liner near the combustion chamber in reaction to the decelerating movement of the piston as the piston approaches TDC. The oil scraper collects oil in a collection groove as the piston travels along the lower portion of the cylinder and carries inertia onto the cylinder liner.
