Abstract:
A sludge drying apparatus includes a waste fluid bath for storing a waste fluid containing a sludge, an extracting unit for extracting the sludge from the waste fluid stored in the waste fluid bath, a transfer belt for transferring the sludge extracted by the extracting unit, a drying unit for drying the sludge to be transferred by the transfer belt, and a recovering unit for recovering the sludge transferred by the transfer belt and dried by the drying unit. The recovering unit includes a roll brush provided adjacent to the air outlet so as to horizontally extend in the direction perpendicular to the direction of extension of the transfer belt, and a recovery box for recovering the sludge separated from the transfer belt by the roll brush.

System for drying a tissue or hygiene web. The system includes a permeable structured fabric carrying the web over a drying apparatus. A permeable dewatering fabric contacts the web and is guided over the drying apparatus. A mechanism is utilized for applying pressure to the permeable structured fabric, the web, and the permeable dewatering fabric at the drying apparatus. A drying station for drying printed sheets transported by a transport belt includes an irradiation device for irradiating the printed sheets, a deflection section located in vicinity of the irradiation device for guiding the transport belt away from the irradiation device, and a shielding device disposed between the transport belt and the irradiation device for shielding the transport belt against radiation from the irradiation device while the sheets are exposed to the radiation. A printing machine including the drying station and a method for drying printed sheets are also provided.
Abstract:
A photosensitive material is dried by radiating heat from a guide plate, having high emissivity, which is disposed along a conveying path and is heated by a ceramic heater. Further, the photosensitive material is dried by a warm air, which is heated by a heater, blown onto the photosensitive material from nozzles. In the drying, because the warm air is also heated by the heated guide plate, the warm air can be risen to a predetermined temperature efficiently. Accordingly, because transferring the radiating heat and the blowing the warm air are performed at a same position (a same member), the drying can be performed efficiently without enlarging the device.
Abstract:
A relaxation dryer for the stress-free drying and simultaneous relaxing shrinking of a web of textile material. The material web is guided along a sinusoidal course in the relaxation channel between two air-permeable transport belts by alternately blowing the web from the top and from the bottom. In order to exert on the web an additional tumble effect, the sinusoidal curve of the web is disturbed at preset intervals by air-impermeable strips provided in one and/or the other transport belt.

The uncoated side of a running web-shaped substrate, the other side of which carries a layer containing an evaporable solvent, is contacted by at least one idler guide roller which is rotated by the substrate. The angle of contact between the uncoated side of the substrate and the peripheral surface of the guide roller is increased by streams of compressed conditioning gas which is discharged by the orifices of two venturis one of which is located immediately upstream of the guide roller and directs gas counter to the direction of advancement of the substrate. The other venturi is located immediately downstream of the guide roller and its orifice discharges gas in the direction of advancement of the substrate.

A heat-treatment apparatus for a textile web comprises a gas-pervious conveyor belt having a stretch defining a treatment path having an upstream end and a downstream end, a system for feeding the web to the upstream end and for advancing the belt to advance the web toward said downstream end along the path, a plurality of upwardly directed lower slot nozzles underneath the stretch along said path, a plurality of downwardly directed upper slot nozzles above the stretch along the path and a device for feeding a hot gas alternately to the upper and lower nozzles. The lower slot nozzles are transverse to at least some of the upper slot nozzles.

A process for the continuous heat treatment of heavy porus webs including rugs, carpets, heavy fiber fleeces, furniture coverings and the like, having a nap which comprises guiding said webs after having undergone a pretreatment, such as dyeing, to heat transfer zones of high effectiveness by passing a gaseous medium, for instance air, through said webs under pressure in a sense opposite to the weight pressure of the webs, or in some cases, from the underside of the web and additionally from above. The invention also relates to an apparatus for carrying out the process of the invention.

APPARATUS FOR THE CONTINUOUS TREATMENT OF WEB-SHAPED, ELASTIC MATERIAL, ESPECIALLY TEXTILE WEBS, WHEREIN THE MATERIAL TO BE TREATED IS PLACED ON A PERFORATED SUPPORTING PLATE AND IS RETAINED ON THIS SUPORTIN GPLATE UNDER GAS PRESSURE. IN ORDER TO ADVANCE THIS MATERIAL IN THE FEED DIRECTION AND TO LOOSEN THE MATERIAL SIMULTANEOUSLY, NOZZLES ARE PROVIDED WHICH MOVE IN THE FEED DIRECTION AND EXTEND OVER THE WIDTH OF THE WEB TO BE TREATED, WHILE HAVING A GAS FLOWING THERETHROUGH. THIS GAS PRODUCES A PRESSURE DIRECTED OPPOSITELY TO THE FIRST MENTIONED GAS PRESSURE AND LIFTS THE MATERIAL INRIPPLES OR WAVES OFF FROM THE PLATE IN THE LONGITUDINAL ZONE OF THE NOZZLE. EACH WAVE MOVES WITH THE NOZZLE IN THE FEED DIRECTION AND THUS EFFECTS THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE MATERIAL, WHICH IS SIMULTANEOUSLY SUBJECTED TO A HEAT TREATMENT BY HEATING THE GAS.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for drying a web, moving in a generally convex arc of no more than 90*, by impinging air from a plenum on the concave side of the web, without contacting the convex side of the web with air jets or other support means. The efficiency of the plenum is increased by employing a plenum with a generally convex profile facing the concave side of the web and directing impinging air on the web from groups of air jet means positioned on the generally convex profile of the plenum. Intermediate adjacent air jet groups, there is positioned on the plenum supplemental air discharging means for directing air at the concave side of the web at a volume and speed different from that discharged by the air jet means to control the position of the web relative the air jet means.
