摘要： A firearm has a frame, a barrel assembly, a slide assembly which holds a recoil assembly, and a firing system with a trigger assembly and safety mechanism. The slide and recoil assemblies are located above the barrel so that the barrel is situated between the topmost part of the frame and the bottom of the slide assembly. The barrel assembly includes a housing which is covered by the slide assembly and secures one side of the recoil assembly. The barrel can be removably connected to the frame through front and rear mounts with removable pins and can modularly connect with the frame and slide assembly so that different caliber barrels can be interchanged. In addition to the trigger, the trigger assembly has a hammer, a sear, a lever arm that engages the trigger, sear and hammer, and springs that bias the trigger assembly components.

摘要： A method of providing a semi-automatic rifle with a reversible safety selector is provided. The method including the steps of: removably and rotatably locating a reversible safety selector in a receiver having a first side and an opposite second side, the reversible safety selector having a selector member and a shaft extending therefrom, the shaft being rotationally received within the receiver and the shaft further comprising a first position selection feature proximate to the selector member and a second position selection feature distal to the selector member, wherein a camming surface is located between the first position selection feature and the second position selection feature, wherein the first position selection feature is configured to only engage a spring biased detent of the receiver when the reversible safety selector is rotated between a first position and a second position with respect to the receiver when the selector member is located on the first side of the receiver, wherein the second position selection feature is configured to only engage the spring biased detent of the receiver when the reversible safety selector is rotated between the first position and the second position with respect to the receiver when the selector member is located on the second side of the receiver, and wherein the camming surface contacts a portion of a trigger of the firearm as the reversible safety selector is rotated between the first position and the second position with respect to the receiver.

摘要： A safety for a firearm includes a blocking member that has a relieved portion adjacent to a relieved portion of a firing pin of the firearm. The blocking member is movable between a safe position wherein the relieved portions are not in registration and a fire position wherein the relieved portions are in registration. The blocking member moves from the safe to the fire position in response to a pull of the firearm's trigger. Movement of the blocking member is rotational in response to a pawl as would also be used to rotate the cylinder of a revolver.

摘要： A auto-loading firearm lockable manual safety mechanism operable to disable the firing control mechanism of the firearm. The firearm may include a frame, a pivotable hammer, and a trigger bar operably coupled to a pivotable trigger for cocking and releasing the hammer. In one embodiment, the trigger bar is movable between a firing position and standby position in which the firing mechanism is disabled. A rotary-operated camming member is provided that is engageable with the trigger bar. The camming member is operable to move the trigger bar between the firing and standby positions. In one embodiment, the camming member may be key-operated.

摘要： A new firearm action is described. The action may be adapted to single-shot handguns and rifles, lever-action firearms, single-action revolvers or to other types of firearms. The new firearm action provides a safety device in a firearm that does not affect the trigger pull when firing the firearm and maintains a durable and reliable action. The trigger cannot be pulled when it is in the safe position, and when the action is in the safe position, the hammer cannot contact the firing pin. The action does not allow the barrel of the firearm to be opened when the hammer is in the cocked position. It also keeps the barrel from being closed if the hammer is cocked when the barrel is in the open position. The hammer cannot contact the firing pin if the top slide is in the retracted position.
