    摘要: A position of a target is determined using a linear inductive position sensor that includes a target coil, an excitation coil, two sensors and a Vernier processor. The sensors each include two or more receive coils. The receive coils include multiple twisted loops. In the first sensor, the coils have a first period, with loops offset by first distance. In the second sensor, the coils have a second period, with loops offset by a second distance. The target coil width is a function of the first distance and the second distance. During operation, the coils output voltages in which third, fifth and/or seventh harmonics are cancelled. Based on the voltages, the sensors output respective first and second position signals, from which the Vernier processor calculates the target’s position along an axis of the position sensor.

    摘要: An absolute electromagnetic position encoder comprises a readhead and an absolute scale. The readhead comprises field generation and detection configuration and a readhead processor. The absolute scale comprises an active periodic signal pattern, an active absolute signal pattern, and timing and activation circuitry connected to the active signal pattern. During an energy transfer cycle, the timing and activation circuitry is configured to receive and store energy from the readhead. During a first signal generating cycle, the timing and activation circuitry is configured to drive the periodic spatially modulated signal generating element in order to generate first cycle spatially periodic signals in the first cycle field detector. During a second signal generating cycle, the timing and activation circuitry is configured to drive the first spatially modulated signal generating element in order to provide at least one corresponding second cycle signal in the readhead. The readhead processor is configured to determine an absolute position of the readhead relative to the absolute scale based on at least the second cycle signal and the first cycle spatially periodic signals.

    摘要: A rotation sensor assembly includes a rotated component rotatably coupled with a base. The rotation sensor assembly includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is coupled with the base or the rotated component. The transmitter generates a magnetic field including a sinusoidally time-varying dipole near-field corresponding to an excitation signal having a first phase value. The receiver is coupled with the other of the rotated component or the base. The receiver detects the magnetic field and generates a reception signal based on the magnetic field with a second phase value corresponding to a rotation angle of the rotated component relative to the base. The receiver is mechanically isolated from the transmitter. A rotation angle module is coupled with the transmitter. The rotation angle module, for instance a phase detector, measures the rotation angle of the rotated component based on the phase difference in the first and second phase values.

    摘要: In a situation where a conventional inductive throttle sensor is used with a motor-driven throttle valve device to detect the rotation angle of a throttle shaft, plural sensor connection conductor sections for connecting a connector terminal to a circuit board terminal section are formed on the cover on one lateral surface side of a circuit board in the long-axis direction. This increases the dimension of the cover in the short-axis direction (the dimension in the direction of air flow in an intake path). Consequently, it is difficult to install the motor-driven throttle valve device and inductive throttle sensor in a narrow engine room. This problem is addressed by using a separate member to achieve electrical conduction between a stator circuit board and a conductor routed inside the cover installed over the stator circuit board in a concentrated manner on one side of the circuit board. The problem is also addressed by disposing plural electrical conduction spots in a decentralized manner and away from a protrusion provided to limit the amount of axial movement of a gear.
