    摘要: An electrical pendulum clock comprising a clock movement having a driven shaft and a dummy pendulum driven from the shaft independently of the timekeeping function of the clock. The pendulum comprises a torsion spring with a vertical axis of twist and a pendulum body suspended at the lower end of the torsion spring. The torsion spring has a radial projection which undergoes pendulous travel with the pendulum under the drive from the shaft of the clock movement. For this purpose a first toothed element is driven in rotation by the shaft of the clock movement and a turnable element is loosely suspended for pendulum movement on the shaft. The turnable element loosely carries a second toothed element on a shaft extending parallel to the shaft of the clock movement, the second toothed element being in mesh with the first toothed element. The second toothed element is positioned in the path of travel of the radial projection on the torsion spring for being locked with the turnable element to then undergo angular movement with the first toothed element to initiate the pendulous movement of the pendulum body via the projection and the torsion spring. After a given degree of angular movement of the turnable element, the latter is released from the radial projection and the pendulum body continues its pendulous movement while the turnable element now returns to an equilibrium position to await the return of the projection upon completion of one cycle of pendulous movement of the pendulum body.

    摘要: A simulated clock apparatus utilizes a housing having an opening therein and a shelf disposed in the housing below the opening. A conventional wristwatch is adapted to be rested on the shelf so as to have the face of the clock exposed for external viewing through the opening. A pendulum is pivotably secured to the shelf and is displayed visibly through a second opening located below the opening. The pendulum may be continuously oscillated back and forth in conventional "Grandfather Clock" fashion by a bar passing through a solenoid coil, such that the bar is urged into oscillatory motion, when contacting an electrical switch at an end thereof such that the switch is operated into a closed position causing a current flow from the battery, housed within the housing, to exert a pulling force on a ferromagnetic portion of the center of the bar. When the bar moves away from its displaced non centric position towards a rest position, the switch is opened causing the current flow to cease such that the momentum of the bar causes an override and continued oscillation until the next cycle wherein the switch again is urged into a closed position by contacting the end of the bar. The pendulum, by moving back and forth, creates a miniature effect of a "Grandfather Clock," coupled with the actual operating of the wrist-watch hand. The wrist-watch may be secured into the storage position within the housing utilizing a block of foam rubber-like material.

    摘要: A simulated pendulum clock has a pendulum which rocks to and fro for decorative purposes only thereby simulating a pendulum clock of the type having a rocking pendulum for timekeeping purposes. A transmission wheel is rotationally driven by the timepiece movement of the clock and a friction clutch mechanism transmits the rotational movement of the transmission wheel to a rotating member whenever the load on the rotating member is less than a predetermined value and otherwise enables slipping of the transmission wheel relative to the rotating member. A toothed escape wheel is coaxially mounted with the rotating member and is connected thereto through a coil spring which applies a rotating torque to the escape wheel. The teeth of the escape wheel coact with a pair of pallet pins of a pallet which is mounted to undergo rocking movement in response to alternative engagement and disengagement of the pallet pins with the escape wheel teeth. A pendulum is fixedly secured at one end to the clock case and hangs downwardly therefrom in juxtaposition with the pallet, the pendulum being connected to the lower end of the pallet so as to transmit the rocking movement of the pallet into a rocking two-and-fro movement of the pendulum thereby simulating a pendulum clock.
