The present invention is intended to improve operability of an operation panel in case of using a function imposed a limitation on use in an image processing device. In order to achieve this, an image processing device 1 having an operation panel 4 on which a plurality of operation keys 13 is arranged comprising: a storage part; an authentication part; and a key operation enabling part. The storage part is for storing a key information 41 allocated to a predetermined operation key of a plurality of operation keys 13, and with which an user authentication information 41 for authenticating a user authorized to use a function corresponding to the predetermined operation key and an authentication activation information 43 in which conditions for user authentication to be executed when the predetermined operation key is operated are defined are associated. The authentication part is for reading the user authentication information 42 and the authentication activation information 43 based on the key information 41 when it was detected the predetermined operation key was operated, and executing user authentication based on the user authentication information 42 if conditions defined in the authentication activation information 43 are met. The key operation enabling part is for enabling a key operation of the predetermined operation key when user authentication results in success.

A method for managing functionality licenses in a closed network is disclosed, wherein at least one subscriber device is connected to the closed network. The method includes operating a server having a license database, wherein the license database includes a plurality of functionality licenses and each functionality license includes a functionality identifier. When the server receives a license request from the at least one subscriber device, the license request including a further functionality identifier, the server compares the further functionality identifier to the functionality identifiers in the license database and assigns a functionality license of the database, which includes a functionality identifier that matches the further functionality identifier to the subscriber device from which the license request was received. Assigning entails storing of the at least one subscriber device from which the license request was received at the server as a licensed subscriber device in the license database.

A method for operating a field device of automation technology capable of special-functionalities, an enabling code set having a plurality of enabling code is managed in a superordinated, key-management unit. With the assistance of the enabling codes, special-functionalities can be enabled in field devices. Associated with individual enabling codes of the enabling code set is, in each case, an attribute, “free” or “blocked”. If a special-functionality is needed, then an enabling code is transmitted to the field device, in case an enabling code with attribute “free” is present. Following transmission, the attribute of the transmitted enabling code is changed from free to blocked. The method permits enabling code to be used very flexably.

A method is provided for detecting one or more analytes in a sample. The method relies, in part, on the ability of functionalized particles added to the sample to partially or completely inhibit the transmission of electromagnetic radiation into and out of the sample through a detection surface in a reaction vessel containing the sample. In a microarray format, the invention can be used to screen millions, billions or more biological elements, such as an organism, cell, protein, nucleic acid, lipid, saccharide, metabolite, or small molecules. Methods, apparatuses and kits are described.
