摘要: In a reverse vending machine the feed opening (22) in the front cover (14), for bottles and cans, is without a fixed connection to pipework, etc. At the same time, an opening (26) for emptying remnants is formed in the front cover (14), in the form of a bowl, which merges at the back side of the front cover into a drain pipe socket (28) positioned above an upwards open drain channel (30) in the interior of the machine, without a fixed connection between the drain pipe socket (28) and the channel (30). The front cover is possibly lockable and can be opened to the side by means of hinges (24), whereby the interior of the reverse vending machine is uncovered for inspection, maintenance or repair.

摘要: A tamper-resistant door for a vending machine includes a conventionally-positioned product delivery port, a cash box vault positioned adjacent the delivery port for receiving a cash box, a coin return chute positioned at an upper corner of the delivery port, and a coin changer of conventional design positioned over the delivery port and the cash box. A changer vault partially encloses the coin changer. The cash box vault (and the cash box placed therein) are relocated away from their conventional position on the non-hinged side of the main door to a location adjacent the product delivery port on the hinged side of the door, while the coin changer is relocated away from its prior art position adjacent the non-hinged side of the main door to a central location above the product delivery port and the cash box vault. An elongated coin chute connects the coin return slot with the coin inlet of the coin changer. A first section of the coin chute is in communication with the coin slot. It incorporates both a longitudinal drop at its inlet end and a sideways bend adjacent its outlet end, and is provided along its bottom with a plurality of drainage slots. A second section of the coin chute is in communication with the coin inlet of the coin changer, and angles downwardly to provide a vertical drop between the outlet of the first section and the inlet of the coin changer.

摘要: A coin handling mechanism for conveying coins to a remotely positioned coin receptor which accumulates the deposited coins. There is a liquid diverter within the mechanism for directing the flow of liquid injected through the coin entrance slot downwardly along the back of the housing to a fluid collecting chamber. A plurality of ribs at the back of the housing form channels for directing the flow of the fluid along the back of the housing. There is also provided a coin discharge chute having an adjustment mechanism to adjust the point of discharge of the coins. This compensates for variances in various vending machines and positions the coin discharge chute properly with respect to the coin receptor.

摘要: A coin handling system comprising an improved coin chute (115) for guiding coins in a coin operated machine is provided comprising a first chute piece (122) and a second chute piece (123), each forming an opposite sidewall of the chute (115). An internal bevelled surface (129) is formed on the backwall (140) of one of the chute pieces (122, 123) so that foreign objects forced into the chute (115) and impacting the backwall (140) will cause the chute (115) to separate into the chute pieces (122, 123) and thereby cause the foreign object to leave the chute (115). Additionally, external bevelled surfaces (144, 148) are formed on the chute pieces (122, 123) so that if a foreign object impacts the outside of the chute (115), the chute (115) separates 15 into the chute pieces (122, 123) and allows continued movement of the foreign object. Thus, the foreign object does not become caught in the coin chute (115). In another aspect of the invention, ridges (130) are formed on the backwall (140) of the chute (115). These ridges (130) obstruct and inhibit downward movement of foreign objects that have been forced into the chute (115) and that impact the backwall (140).

摘要: A coin hopper for use on vending machines utilizes a transparent housing having openings at the top and bottom thereof for the passage of coins or liquids. A first downwardly slanted support surface is provided whereby coins or liquids entering the opening at the top of the hopper gravitate downwardly free falling at the end of the first support surface onto a second downwardly slanted countersunk perforated support surface. Liquid falling onto the second downwardly slanted perforated support surface passes through the countersunk perforations into a compartment located therebelow. Coins, on the other hand, gravitate downwardly along both downwardly slanted support surfaces free falling at the end thereof into a coin changer. A tube connected to an aperture in the bottom of the compartment drains liquid collected within said compartment. Use of the downwardly slanted countersunk support surface having a compartment therebelow prevents liquids which may enter the hopper from flowing downwardly into the coin changer causing malfunction thereof or causing dangerous electrical conditions to occur.

摘要: A coin operated vending machine has a pair of spaced conductors mounted on a coin chute and in position to be bridged by any electrically conductive liquid squirted into the coin slot. Bridging of the conductors by the liquid completes a circuit which disconnects vending circuitry from its power source. The spaced conductors are mounted on a non-conductive support which prevents a coin itself from contacting and bridging the conductors.

摘要: A coin operated dispensing machine has a coin chute and an electrical coin mechanism which is subject to malfunction when exposed to liquid entering through the coin chute. The coin mechanism is protected from such liquid by providing the coin chute with a liquid reject mechanism including a liquid pervious gate extending across the chute and which separates the path of coins from the path of liquid. Coins are diverted laterally for delivery to the coin mechanism. Any liquid is discharged downwardly through the gate and into a liquid trough. A splash guard is mounted between the liquid trough and the coin mechanism.
