    摘要: A present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for tuning piano strings by heating the piano strings. The apparatus includes split magnetic cores that encircle the piano strings. The magnetic cores comprise wiring wrapped around the outside of the magnetic cores to induce an alternating current in the piano strings through mutual inductance. The generated alternating current in the piano strings allows each piano string to be heated and thereby tuned.

    摘要: Important new descriptors (Down Force Slope and Up Force Slope), which more fully and meaningfully characterize the continuous Down Force and Up Force are revealed. Similar descriptors are also created to more fully characterize the Balance Force and Frictional Force curves. The invention also discloses various methods and means for accurately testing, measuring and determining other parameters (including the position of the at-rest key, key sluggishness, and others characterizing the “let-off” event) in an accurate and efficient manner. Methods of quantifying and measuring the actual inertia of a key action—in a non-invasive manner—are also disclosed, with several inertial parameters being defined. Methods for quantifying and measuring the actual inertia of the major individual components of a key action are also detailed, along with parameters and methods for expressing their contribution “at the key”. All of the various measurement methods of the current invention are performed in a “controlled, kinetic and continuous” manner.

The wood member has compressive internal stress remaining at least in an outer peripheral portion thereof by being subjected to heating processing, cooling processing, and moisture conditioning processing, in advance. A wood workpiece as a workpiece for the wood member is heated at a predetermined temperature, and the heated wood workpiece is cooled. The cooled wood workpiece is subjected to moisture conditioning such that compressive internal stress is generated at least in an outer peripheral portion of the wood workpiece.

The limitation of the acoustically active part prevents elements (6, 7) that have primarily static or optical functions or serve to produce variety of playing technique from vibrating or emitting sound, since they may lead to interferences and distortions of the primary sound event. According to the invention, an intermediate layer produced from a material (1) that reduces sound conduction is arranged in the connecting zones between the elements.
