摘要： A fireplace screen fixture is shown for assembly to the front face of a fireplace opening. This fixture includes a metal frame capable of outlining a fireplace opening, and it has a supporting rod extending transversely across the upper portion of the frame from one side to the other. A plurality of ring members are threaded onto the supporting rod and they are capable of moving along the length of the rod. A pair of wire screen curtains are supported within the frame by being suspended at their upper portions from the ring members. The invention comprises a sheet metal locking strip attached to the vertical mating side edge of each screen curtain so that when these two screen curtains are stretched closed these two locking strips are interlocked with each other as a safety measure to keep logs or wood from falling accidentally through the screen while the fire is burning. Also, the screen curtains are prevented from developing a gap and allowing sparks to enter the room as a fire hazard.

摘要： An apparatus for supporting a fireback without the need for additional support from a wall or other structure. The apparatus consists of two support bases, each with a flat upper surface including two buttresses separated by a gap, arising perpendicularly therefrom. The fireback is placed in the gap between the buttresses and held ajar in a generally upright position. The invention includes insertable wedges which permit the varying of the gap, and therefore the angle of incidence of the fireback relative to the vertical plane. The invention maximizes the full depth of the fireplace, as well as the light reflection, heat radiation, and ornamental qualities of the fireback.

摘要： A fireplace enclosure comprising a frame having two vertical side members and two transverse cross members extending therebetween, two pairs of hingedly connected folding doors for closing off the space encompassed by the frame, and a pair of slide latches connected with elongate slidable handles on two of the doors respectively for conveniently selectively latching and releasing the doors from the frame. The frame includes a door stop in the form of a depending apron on the upper cross member, constituting a backing for the doors when they are in closed positions. A pair of retainer slide members is carried on the innermost two doors, respectively, for engagement with the rear surface of the apron to prevent the doors from swinging freely outward as they are opened or closed. The arrangement is such that both the unlatching and the opening of each door pair can be readily accomplished by a single movement of the handle carried by one of the doors of the pair.Another form of the invention involves a fireplace enclosure having a pair of chain-operated, collapsible wire-mesh screens which slide along aligned rods having looped or bent connecting portions. The loops in the rod enable the screens to overlap an extent when closed, and also provide a simple guide for coextensive portions of the chain, without the need for complex channels or additional chain guide mechanisms.

摘要： Draw means for a sliding screen supported on a traverse rod and comprising a wire member including two co-axially disposed leading and trailing loops connected by a rigid straight section. A manually engageable handle depends from the trailing loop. The loops embrace the traverse rod from which the screen is suspended as by ring elements. The draw means is disposed between two consecutive ring elements and movement of the draw means will effect corresponding sliding movement of the screen. In a modified embodiment the leading loop is provided with an extension which is connected to the screen.
