    摘要: An especially compact, highly efficient heat recovery device for use in the cool air return duct of a heating system may be easily installed in existing flue pipes and transfers the ordinarily wasted heat in the exhaust gases flowing through the flue pipe to the cool return air thereby preheating the latter and increasing the efficiency of the heating system. The device includes a three stage heat transfer structure housed within a heat conductive tubular member which cooperate to transfer heat away from the gases into the cool return air by means of conduction, convection and radiation processes. A first stage deflects a portion of the gases toward and into heat exchanging contact with the sidewalls of the tubular member and directs the remaining portion into a gas pervious heat storage trap which comprises the second stage. The third stage includes a perforated, heat deflecting and radiating cone structure which cooperates with the first and second stages to produce temperature stratification within the tubular member to further increase heat transfer to the cool return air.

The turbulator plates divert the fluid flow radially into contact with the large surface areas of the corrugations and a ribbed construction on each turbulence plate adds to the turbulance of the fluid flow to enhance heat exchange. An assembly of tubular conduits is provided with quick disconnect attachments whereby individual conduits may be easily removed and replaced.

    摘要: A heat exchange device comprising a liquid flow tube with an inner cylinder located interiorly of the tube and a turbulator arranged generally helically around the cylinder with edgewise adjacent fins in the form of separate tongues in which each fin is at an angle of about 100.degree.-110.degree. from the inner cylinder on which the turbulator is located. This angle is measured from the cylinder in the direction of flow of the liquid flowing through the tube. Adjacent edges of adjacent fins describe a divergent V from the cylinder toward the tube and thereby describe channels between adjacent fins for directing the liquid outwardly toward the tube.

An elongated tube through which fluid to be subject to a heat exchange process is provided with a first outer winding within the tube in substantial abutment with the inner wall of the tube and a second inner winding at least partially within the first winding. The pitch of the first winding is different from the pitch of the second winding. Consistent heat exchange at extremely low Reynolds numberes is obtainable with the structure. Also disclosed is a method of making such a turbulator and conduit structure.
