The blades are shaped to have minimum air drag and substantially zero aerodynamic lift. When launched the device climbs in a substantially vertical loop, spinning as it goes. At or near the top of the loop, the device (which has become inverted) loses its linear velocity, thereby causing the device to descend spinning to a substantially vertical, relatively soft landing near the user.

摘要： A toy boomerang is provided in the form of a generally flat circular body having a plurality of spiral arms extending between a central hub and an outer annulus. Each spiral arm defines an airfoil providing lift to the toy when it is spun through the air. The toy is used by spinning it into the air by a swinging, snapping movement of the arm and wrist whereupon the toy will follow a rising straight trajectory to a stall point and then reverse its direction and return directly back to the thrower.

摘要： A flying toy of the boomerang type having two airfoil arms extending horizontally from a center portion. Each arm carries at its outer end a horizontally disposed, annular-shaped stabilizer having a horizontally disposed outer periphery whose diameter is approximately twice the horizontal width of the arm at the juncture of the arm and the stabilizer, and having an inner periphery which is disposed in the same horizontal plane as the outer periphery, and which defines a center opening through the stabilizer. The stabilizer has a convex top annular surface and a concave bottom annular surface extending between the inner and outer peripheries. During flight, the stabilizers serve simultaneously as airfoils, airfoil arm stabilizers, and a gyroscope for the flying toy.
