Abstract:
In a lubricant application system, a prescribed volume of lubricant is transferred from a lubricant discharge port 8 of a prescribed liquid volume discharge device to a rolling element 703 of a rolling bearing 700 in a state in which the lubricant discharge port 8 is positioned directly above and sufficiently close to the rolling element 703, whereby the lubricant is applied to the interior of the rolling bearing 700. Further, the application system inspects whether or not a prescribed volume of lubricant is injected from the discharge device for injecting a lubricant into the interior of a rolling bearing 700.
Abstract:
Manufacturing low density components of high surface strength having a polymer or metal matrix substrate and ceramics and/or metal-ceramics coating, wherein the low density substrate to be coated is subjected to: optionally, machining the surface in order to generate residual compressive stress in the outer layers; optionally, thermal stabilizing at a temperature lower than 350° C.; depositing onto the outer surface, with hot spraying techniques at a temperature ranging from 70 to 350° C., of a coating layer in ceramics and/or metal-ceramics material of a surface strength higher than that of the component to be coated, the surface of the coating layer being optionally subjected to a finishing treatment. The disclosure also relates to the product thus obtained.
Abstract:
The invention provides a device for holding a substrate during deposition processes that includes a rotation member rotatable about a first, central axis, and a plurality of substrate holders positioned on the rotation member, the substrate holders being rotatable about second axes. In another aspect, the invention provides a method of applying a substantially uniform coating on a substrate including the steps of providing a device of the invention; mounting a substrate onto the substrate mounts; providing at least one substrate coating station in spaced relation to the substrate mounts; rotating the rotation member about a central axis to position one or more of the substrate mounts at the substrate coating station; supplying the coating through the nozzle; moving the nozzle of the coating station in a direction parallel to the substrate at a predetermined rate to apply a uniform coating on the substrate; and rotating the substrate mounts about the second axes during the coating process.
Abstract:
A method for painting a panel using a paint applicator defines a painting pattern with a plurality of points on a surface of a panel to be painted, the pattern extending in a predetermined direction and the points defining opposite edges of the pattern extending in a predetermined direction, with at least one edge of the pattern being adjacent an edge of the panel. The applicator is moved relative to the panel to apply the paint in the painting pattern having a desired film thickness. The pattern including a first plurality of pattern segments and a second plurality of reinforcing segments, the pattern segments being connected together each extending between an associated pair of the points on the opposite edges of the pattern, and the reinforcing segments each extending between an associated pair of the points adjacent the edge of the panel. A plurality of different painting patterns can be stored in a memory for selecting the one pattern to be used.
Abstract:
Spray on polyurethaneurea coatings provide corrosion resistance over long periods of time to marine fixtures, particularly of active metals such as aluminum and steel. Radar arches, fishing platforms, railing systems, etc. can maintain their aesthetics over extended periods of time, even in salt water environments, when the coating has been penetrated to the metal surface.
Abstract:
A liquid film forming method of dropping a liquid from a dropping nozzle or dropping nozzles of a dropping unit onto a substrate to be processed, and then providing relative movement between the dropping unit and the substrate while keeping the liquid dropping on the substrate, so as to form a liquid film on the substrate
Abstract:
A differential thickness pattern can be induced in a coating that is sprayed on an aircraft engine part using a robotic system. The robotic system includes a spray mechanism with a triggering device to spray the coating on the aircraft engine part and a controller. The controller is used to move the spray mechanism along a predetermined path and to activate and deactivate the triggering device. To obtain the differential thickness pattern, a predetermined profile of the aircraft engine part corresponding to areas of the aircraft engine part requiring a thicker coating is integrated into a control program used by the controller. The controller uses the control program to activate and deactivate the triggering mechanism to limit the spraying of the coating to only those areas of the part in the predetermined profile to obtain a different coating thickness.
Abstract:
This invention discloses a novel design to obtain a good coating uniformity and to reduce the volume of viscous materials when coating by spraying the viscous material on the wafer during the first time period at a first predetermined pressures; spraying the viscous material on the wafer at a second predetermined pressure in response to the end of the first time period, the second predetermined pressure being lower than the first predetermined pressure; and spraying the viscous material on the wafer during a second time period at a time-varying pressure, the time-varying pressure being increased from the second predetermined pressure to a third predetermined pressure during the second time period.
Abstract:
A more controllable acoustic ceiling patch or textured material in the form of a sprayable composition includes a base, a filler, an adhesive binder, an anti-foaming agent, a suspension agent, and rubber particulates or polyethylene particulates forming an aggregate suitable for spraying in the presence of volatile organic compound (VOC) propellants without melting or deterioration. The more controllable acoustic ceiling patch is storable and dispensable from a pressurized dispenser having a delivery nozzle. An aerosol system with a spray nozzle is included on the container for selective discharge of the textured material onto a prepared patch area, which may be on a drywall or support panel so as to match and blend with the surrounding acoustic ceiling surface area in order to provide a continuous and unbroken coextensive surface texture of mechanically and visually matched material.
Abstract:
A method and device of treating an irregularly shaped article to prepare the article for painting is provided. The device includes a burner which can produce an adjustable flame tongue which can fit into crevices, openings and other irregular topographical features of an item to be painted or otherwise coated. The burner device further provides means to apply a grafting chemical on a freshly oxidized surface. Further, the invention provides means to colorize treated objects so that they may be recognized as having been treated. In another embodiment, the grafting chemicals may be enhanced with electrolytic solutions such that electrostatic methods of painting may be subsequently employed on the item. In an alternate embodiment, the burner is adapted to spray a powder inside of a generally enclosed flame, and is used in conjunction with chop guns to manufacture glass or carbon fiber preforms.
