摘要： A whistle attachment is shown for a multi-implement tool which may be of the folding knife type. The whistle is attached and located in a manner to provide quick and easy access to the whistle in an emergency situation such as an attack or potential attack by a miscreant. The whistle is made for attachment to the existing structure of the tool to provide economy and ease of manufacture. In a preferred embodiment the whistle is made for use by blowing by mouth into an opening in the whistle. This avoids the potential for failure of a power source if battery or other power means were used to sound the whistle. The whistle also serves as a decorative cover for a multi-implement tool and does not depend on any structure of the tool to complete the whistle.

摘要： An apparatus for marking and cutting of construction material, wherein the apparatus is adapted for use with a flexible measuring tape. The apparatus utilizes a main body in which a measuring tape is slideably engaged into a retaining slot. A protruding cutting wheel or marking material is set at a desired dimension and guided against a construction material in order to mark or cut the material at a uniform width. Movement of the apparatus along the work piece is easily accomplished since the angled tip or leader of a flexible measuring tape is used as a fence capable of sliding along the work piece with movement of the apparatus.

摘要： A compound, multiple function, foldable tool having first and second handles, a tool head with pivotable jaw members, and a plurality of additional tools. The tool head are stored within first channels on first sides of the handles, and the additional tools are stored within second channels on second sides of the handles opposite the first sides. Thus, when the tool head is used, the additional tools do not interfere with gripping of the handles during use of the tool head. Moreover, because of the position of the additional tools, these tools are easily accessible while the tool head is in the storage position. The compound tool may also include a ratchet and an adapter and coupler that fit on the ratchet or at least one of the additional tools so that even further tools may be fit on the compound tool. An easy to read full length, straight edge ruler may optionally be provided on the top and bottom surfaces of the handles. Preferably, an individual spring is provided for each tool to prevent further pivoting of the selected tool away from the storage channels once the tool is extended into a working position. A spring lock mechanism may also be provided to prevent the undesired return of an extended tool into the storage position until the lock is released.

摘要： A knife set for removing thorns from the surface of the nopal cactus petal which, in one aspect, is comprised of a cutting tool with a handle and a curved cutting blade extending out of a handle member. The handle is configured in a plane that is elevated above the average longitudinal axis of the curved blade allowing for the thorn removal without exposing the user's thumb and fingers to being cut and injured on the cactus petal prickers. The curved cutting blade has sharpened edges that extend the length of the blade and terminate in rounded corners at the blade end to prevent the cutting end from gouging and tearing the surrounding edible petal tissue. Another aspect of the disclosure comprises a securing tool having a curved blade that is generally perpendicular to the direction of the handle. The securing knife is used in combination with the cutting knife and is positioned against the cactus petal surface, near the base, to prevent the petal from shifting in location during the dethorning process. A third aspect of the disclosure relates to a method of dethorning the cactus petal using the cutting knife and the securing knife in combination.

摘要： A telescoping series of coaxial nested tubes 1-4 extend to provide an elongated handle. Each inner tube of the series has a back end with a gradual conical flare. Each tube that encloses a smaller tube has a front end with a gradual conical reduction. At full extension the tubes stop and bind against each other, so no clamps or screws are needed. A pruning saw blade 7 is attached to the front end of the innermost tube 4. The innermost tube is shorter than the outer tube 1 by at least the length of the saw blade, so that all the tubes and the blade retract within the outer tube. Caps 10 and 13 close the outer tube on each end. A resilient damper in each cap presses against the ends of the inner tubes, preventing motion and noise among them. A spare saw blade can be enclosed in the innermost tube 4. It can be retained in a hole in the back damper 11, or in a resilient slotted plug in the innermost tube. The front cap 13 preferably includes a direction-finding compass 15 for wilderness use. A threaded bolt 14 or other attachment means preferably extends backward from the back cap for mounting the collapsed saw in a convenient location.
