Abstract: A blade clamp assembly has a housing and a clamping lever to hold a blade for a reciprocating saw. The clamping lever rotates about a pin within a cavity formed in the housing. The clamping lever includes a body portion having a cam face and a handle portion integrally formed with the body portion and extending from the trailing portion of the cam face. As assembled, the handle portion extends slightly out from the edge of the housing. A plate is provided between the cam face of the clamping lever and the floor of the cavity. A torsion spring is provided to bias the cam face against the plate to hold a blade by the assembly. The handle portion is used to overcome the torsion spring.

Abstract: A mechanism for mounting the ends of saw blades of different sizes and configurations in a reciprocating chuck of a machine saw. The chuck is formed with an opening in which two flat inner walls intersect at an acute angle to form a corner. The saw blade is placed with one of its sides against one of the inner walls and a corner of the blade opposite the side is placed next to the other inner wall. A set screw then engages the free corner of the blade to press it firmly into the corner formed by the inner walls of the chuck.

Abstract: A saw blade clamping mechanism includes a holder connectable to a reciprocating shaft of a power sawing tool. The holder has a sliding way, a receiving slot for insertion of a saw blade, and a through hole in communication between the sliding way and the receiving slot. A steel ball is movably installed in the through hole. A sliding block is mounted in the sliding way and moveable between a first position for receiving the steel ball for removal of the saw blade out of the receiving slot and a second position to force the steel ball into the receiving slot to lock the saw blade. A spring member supports the sliding block in the second position. A control knob is connected to the sliding block for operation by the user to move the sliding block from the second position to the first position.

Abstract: A gearbox is provided for a handheld power tool. The gearbox includes a housing including a recess having a wall section, a main gear disposed within the recess and including a plurality of gear teeth, and a drive gear engaged with the main gear for driving the main gear.
