    摘要: Printing apparatus preferably for printing numerals in calculating machines is disclosed, such apparatus having a plurality of substantially sector-shaped-type carrying members, each of such members being pivotally mounted and provided with a predetermined number of illustratively impression-type members movable generally radially in the vicinity of the circumference of the sector-shaped portion. A ratchet mechanism is provided on each of the sector-shaped portions for ruling or interrupting movement of each of the type carrying members. A plurality of spring-loaded printing hammers are arranged to strike the type members to print selected characters, each of the hammers being provided with corresponding linkage for controlling its movement. The entire apparatus is preferably mounted on a laterally movable carriage, and electronic coding and sensing may be provided for controlling the apparatus for example, in the event of computerized operation.

    摘要: In a serial printing mechanism, of the type having a rotating disc-shaped (carrousel) type lever magazine, an arrangement for swiveling up and returning the type levers selected to perform a printing movement. The displacing path and one portion of the return path, which operate on the free end of the type lever, rise out of a guide ring and extend almost to the printing point and merge one into the other, forming a single unit. The portion of the displacing path near the printing point is designed to give the type lever free ends an accleration to compensate for the bending caused by the Coriolis force, so that the letters are printed straight. Acting on extensions to the type levers is the other portion of the return path, which other portion influences the type levers so that their oscillations are damped and the type levers safely enter the normal path of rotation.

    摘要: A switchpoint type of deflecting device for effecting the undisturbed distribution of continuously moving bodies which have been preliminarily deflected by a selecting station to different tracks or paths marked by special guide members. A distributing tongue prevents head-on collisions which would otherwise occur between a body and the stationary guide members as a result of insufficient preliminary deflection. The guide members are wedgeshaped with the pointed end serving to separate the individual paths, and are preceded by the vertically deflectable distributing or deflecting tongue, fitted at one end to the wedge-shaped end of the guide and pointed at the other end facing the selecting station, and whose top surface is doubly inclined downwards toward the pointed end and the deflection path side face. Urging of improperly deflected bodies in the proper direction, already begun by the selecting station, is furthered by the doubly-inclined top surface and spring-opposed downward movement of the tongue, and compulsorily completed by the guide. Properly deflected and undeflected bodies are not affected by the tongue.

    摘要: In a printing apparatus of the type having a continuously rotating type lever magazine, an arrangement is provided for effecting the contactless magnetic selection of individual type levers. Selection is accomplished by deflecting at a predetermined time the desired type lever out of its normal path of rotation into the printing track by means of an electromagnet positioned above the magazine. The pole surfaces of the electromagnet are inclined in the direction of rotation so as to impart to the selected type lever an inclined trajectory which, as a result of the continued rotation of the type lever assembly, carries the lever via free flight into the printing track.
