摘要： A combination tow hook and base plate system for connecting a tow bar to a towed vehicle. The system includes transversely opposed tow hook members, each having a closed loop configuration, connected to the towed vehicle. The system also includes base plate members configured to be operatively connected to the tow bar, each base plate member including a horizontally oriented spacer plate, a stiffener, an optional cross member interconnecting the base plate members, and a tow bar connector mechanism. The system further includes connector mechanisms configured to operatively connect the base plate members to the tow hook members, each connector mechanism including a connector plate, a spacer configured to be slidably insertable through the closed loop configuration of the respective tow hook member, and a fastening mechanism. The connector plates, spacer plates, and fastening mechanisms are configured to cooperatively and removably secure the base plate members to the tow hook members. For some applications, the length of the optional cross member may be adjustable. A kit and a method of using the combination tow hook and base plate system is provided.

摘要： A hitch assembly for attaching a trailer to a bicycle includes a hitch unit mounted on a wheelstay assembly above the rear axle of a bicycle. The wheelstay assembly is pivotally connected at its lower ends to a skewer extending through the rear axle hub and a strut member is pivotally connected to the seat post of the bicycle and to the hitch unit. The hitch unit is rotatable about a substantially vertical first pivot axis and includes a mounting for attachment by a tongue of a trailer, such as a trailer cycle. The tongue is attached to the hitch unit so that it can swing about a substantially vertical first axis and pivot about a substantially horizontal second axis. When the hitch assembly is mounted on a suspension bicycle, it is able to move up and down, substantially vertically, as the rear wheel moves up and down relative to the frame and seat of the bicycle. That up-and-down movement of the hitch assembly provides a more comfortable ride and less vibration and shock is transmitted along the tongue to the trailed vehicle, such as a trailer cycle.

摘要： An front wall of an armored vehicle is formed with a large-diameter hole and has a tow hitch in turn having a generally cup-shaped reinforcement plate having an outer periphery engaging an inner face of the front wall around the hole. This plate is forwardly concave toward the hole and the outer periphery is welded to the inner face of the wall by a weld. A tow-eye bar fixed to the center of the reinforcement plate extends forward through the hole. The hole and plate are circular and the plate is of greater diameter than the hole.

摘要： An underbed gooseneck hitch assembly includes a channel housing that is secured to a pair of angle brackets. The angle brackets are secured to a pair of frame mounting brackets, which are in turn mounted to the frame rails of the vehicle. The hitch assembly also includes a ball socket for receiving a ball hitch. A pull cable handle assembly includes a spring biased retaining pin that can be retracted from and inserted into the ball hitch to secure the ball hitch for use. The ball hitch protrudes above the cargo bed and is attachable to a gooseneck trailer. Insertion of the ball hitch is accomplished by turning the handle of the pull cable handle assembly to an unlocked position, rotating the handle to a locked position, and inserting the ball hitch into the ball socket. The ball hitch is properly aligned with the retaining pin by inserting the ball hitch completely into the ball socket and aligning indicia on the ball hitch with a notch on the ball socket. Removal of the ball hitch is accomplished by turning the handle of the pull cable handle assembly to the unlocked position, pulling the handle outwardly until the retaining pin is no longer received in the ball hitch, rotating the handle to the locked position, and removing the ball hitch from the ball socket.

Each of a pair of pins is extendable through one of the saddles and an associated bar for removably securing the bars to the saddles.
