摘要: The position of an operated winker lever (104) is held by a moderation pin (108) and a moderation ridge portion (151). Further, a position detection means detects a position at which the winker lever (104) is held. Moreover, a projection portion (121) and a guide portion, which respectively interlock with an operating plate (131) of a solenoid (103) and a winker lever (104), are engaged with each other. Thus, as the magnetized operating plate (131) moves, the winker lever (104) is returned to a neutral position.

摘要: An automatic turn signal canceller of this invention is constituted using a geomagnetic sensor for detection of axial components of the geomagnetism (or magnetic field) and a conversion table storing relationships between bearings, inclinations, and outputs of the geomagnetic sensor, which are measured in advance. After the operator (or driver) of a motorcycle operates turn signals to indicate leftward or rightward turning of the traveling direction, the operator turns the traveling direction while inclining (or banking) the motorcycle. In this case, when the bearing of the motorcycle is varied by a prescribed angle (e.g., 20°) or more after the operator operates the turn signals, and then, the inclination of the motorcycle is restored to the normal position substantially perpendicular to the horizontal plane because the operator completely finishes turning the motorcycle, the turn signals are automatically canceled.

摘要: A control circuit generates a right-turn or left-turn signal from a direction indicator lamp based on a direction indicating signal from a turn signal switch in a scooter as a vehicle. The control circuit then calculates a turning angle of the scooter from an angular speed V of the scooter detected by an angular speed sensor, and cancels the turn signal generated from the direction indicator lamp on the condition that the turning angle be equal to or greater than a reference turning angle, that a vehicle speed N detected by a vehicle speed sensor be equal to or higher than a reference vehicle speed, and that the angular speed detected by the angular speed sensor be equal to or lower than a reference angular speed. Accordingly, even when the scooter is waiting to make a right or left turn at an intersection with a turning angle equal to or greater than the reference turning angle and an angular speed V equal to or lower than the reference angular speed, the vehicle speed N does not become equal to or higher than the reference vehicle speed (the vehicle speed is actually zero). Therefore, the turn signal is prevented from being canceled unnecessarily.

摘要: The problem of the turn signal inadvertently remaining on is solved through the use of additional intelligence added on to the current turn-signal control system already existing within current late-model vehicles. The turn-control circuitry in a vehicle first sends a signal to the ABS system indicating to the ABS system that the turn signal has been turned on. The amount of distance traveled from a certain event, such as when the turn signal is turned on, can be ascertained by the ABS system, as distance traveled for odometer purposes has always been a product of the ABS system. Therefore, when a predetermined distance has passed since the turn signal was activated, the ABS system, sends a signal back to the turn-control circuitry, instructing the turn-control circuitry to turn off the turn signal. Upon receiving this turn-off signal from the ABS system, the turn-control system logically “OR's” the ABS signal with its own current turn signal disabling mechanism, such that the turn signal is cleared as a result.
