摘要： A pull-out load platform truck cargo beds. The load platform has a frame with a base, a plurality of outriggers that extend therefrom, and a pair of rails that are aligned with the base. The outriggers and the rails are adjustable and have ends that are configured and arranged to engage surfaces of a truck body in a non-invasive manner, so that when the load platform is installed in a cargo bed of a truck, the base is prevented from moving relative thereto. A deck, onto which cargo may be placed, is operatively connected to the frame and movable relative thereto, preferably in a constrained manner. When the deck is pulled out relative to the frame so that it extends partially beyond the end of the base in a cantilever fashion, the deck is prevented from tipping by the operative connection between the frame and the deck.

摘要： A portable combination tool for use by truckers provides several functions in a single device. The present tool essentially comprises a telescoping tubular assembly, with the smaller diameter tube or rod being adjustably positionable within the larger tube. The smaller rod or tube attaches to the structure of an adjustably positionable tandem axle unit on a semitrailer, with the tool providing for the release of the lock pin handle of the tandem unit. A spring extends from the larger diameter handle portion of the tool, and is secured to the release pin handle of the tandem unit. The handle portion of the tool is extended to apply a tensile force to the release handle through the spring, with the driver then moving the truck and trailer slightly to release any shear frictional loads on the release pins, causing the release handle to release due to the spring tension of the tool. A locator may also be used with the present tool to provide a remote indication of the proper repositioning of the tandem axle unit to the predetermined position desired by the driver, while the driver remains in the cab. The present tool may also be used to release the fifth wheel release mechanism of the tractor unit, for unhitching a semitrailer therefrom, with the release hook also serving as a device for breaking trailer door latch seals. The elongate configuration of the tool provides utility as a “tire thumper” for providing a rough check of tire inflation, as well.

摘要： A partitioning system for use in the storage area of a vehicle is disclosed. The partitioning system includes a multipurpose shelf that can be positioned in a plurality of different locations. The shelf can be disposed (1) horizontally near the top of the rear row of seats to act as a security cover; (2) horizontally along the floor in the storage area; (3) horizontally to cooperate of a folded last row of seats to provide a generally flat surface from the end gate into the passenger area; (4) vertically and adjacent to the rear row of seats; and (5) horizontally, while the end gate is open, such that the shelf extends beyond the storage area as defined by a closed end gate. The shelf includes a pivotable support leg that may contact the vehicle body to support the shelf in this horizontal position that extends beyond the storage area defined by a closed end gate.

摘要： A cover and extender unit for the bed of a motor vehicle bounded by a forward wall, opposing side walls and a pivoted rear tailgate comprising a pivoting frame having opposing and laterally spaced sides that in a stowed position lie along the opposing interior surfaces of the side walls of the vehicle bed. Additionally, the frame has a transversely extending closure panel operatively interconnected between the sides at predetermined points adjacent to the forward ends thereof so that it may be used as a swingable tailgate when the unit is in an extended position. The frame has a flexible, sheet—like top cover that rolls up on a cylindrical spring powered roller operatively mounted in cover housing. The cover unrolls on frame deployment to shelter the truck bed. The frame is mounted by side pivot construction for limited pivotal movement relative to the side walls of the bed near the aft ends thereof allowing it to be turned 180 degrees rearward as a unit from the stowed to an extended bed cover position terminating at a point proximate to the extremity of the lowered tailgate. The frame and its cover can be readily returned to the stored position by turning the unit forward 180 degrees.
