    摘要: An internal support system for the cockpit portion of a kayak is provided which comprises rigid bow and stern plates, which are fastened to the kayak's bow and stern decks, respectively, and extend from those decks to the kayak's bottom hull, and a stiffening connecting plate which rigidly connects the bow and stern plates to one another. The connecting plate and the bow and stern plates define a concave contour in the region of the cockpit opening to receive the kayak's seat and to allow the kayaker to enter and exit the kayak. The support system makes the cockpit area of the kayak dramatically less likely to collapse if the kayak becomes pinned on a rock in the rapids of a river. It also allows the kayaker to readily exit the kayak during an emergency. To provide support throughout the length of the kayak, the cockpit support system can be connected to foam walls located in the bow and stern portions of the boat.

    摘要: A floating dock for a small vessel has a generally flat buoyant member whose front end is narrower than its rear end. A large indentation extends into the rear end of the buoyant member for receiving the nose of the vessel. When two or more of the buoyant members are attached together with the wider end facing outward, they combine to form a larger floating dock in the shape of a polygon. In one form, the buoyant member is formed of three inflatable rings within an A-shaped or a triangular envelope. There is a space between two of the rings. The envelope has a cut-out portion above the space between the spaced-apart rings to create an indentation to receive the nose of the vessel.

    摘要: A screw-propelled, water saddle for ride on a water surface. This water saddle is supported by two parallel floats, properly spaced apart and joined by at least one emerging cross-member. A central bar or tubing is fixed parallel to the floats at the middle of the cross-members. The saddle is mounted on the rear part of the central bar approximately at the center of the area defined by the floats while the front end of the same receives a removable propelling and steering device comprising a screw-propeller driven by a pair of pedals and a handle-bar for steering the propeller in a given direction. The rider takes place on the saddle, puts his feet on the pedals and activates the handle-bar to place the propeller in the desired direction. This screw-propelled water saddle is particularly interesting because of its simplicity, lightness, stability, speed and manageability.

    摘要: A power operated surfboard which has a raised rear hollow portion at the rear in which is disposed an impeller housing having an impeller therein and a water discharge passage extending rearwardly from the housing. An internal combustion engine is supported above the impeller housing and has a short vertical axis connected to the impeller which rotates about a vertical axis. Surrounding the impeller housing is an exhaust gas housing which communicates with the exhaust gas passage of the engine and with a discharge chamber beneath the floor of the surfboard. The exhaust gas housing is gas tight and provides a gas cushion which retards the entrance of water through the discharge chamber into the exhaust passage of the engine, when the surfboard is not being operated. This is aided by a flexible valve disposed at the discharge outlet of the discharge chamber to retard the entrance of water into the discharge chamber. Associated with the exhaust gas discharge chamber and forming a part of a two chamber is a water inlet chamber which communicates with the intake of the impeller through the floor of the boat and extends over the opening to the impeller to prevent accidental contact with the rotating impeller either by an occupant or by some foreign object.A belly pan has a bottom wall disposed between the engine and the impeller housing and surrounds the engine to form an engine compartment. Disposed at the bottom of the engine compartment is a one way valve which permits draining of water or fuel from the belly pan but hinders the access of water into the interior of the belly pan.

The mast is attached to the clutch assembly, which is movable in a longitudinal track on the sailing board. A foot pedal is operable to move the pressure plate against the bias, allowing the longitudinal position of the mast on the board to be adjusted by the board user while the board is in motion.
