摘要： A stores ejection system for retaining stores on the underside of an aircraft and forcibly jettisoning the stores away from the aircraft is disclosed. The ejection system includes a plurality of ejector mechanisms for releasably holding and jettisoning the stores away from the aircraft, a plurality of storage devices for storing pressurized gas to actuate the ejector mechanisms, and a central control system for maintaining the pressure of the gas, and actuating the release of the gas. The central control system monitors the pressure of the storage devices and heats only those storage devices that have a pressure below the operating pressure.

摘要： Apparatus for capturing fleeing animals or persons comprises a gun having a barrel and stock to which are attached a pair of elongated tubular members, one on each side of the gun barrel and substantially parallel thereto. Attached to the end of the gun barrel is a guide assembly which includes a central tube coaxially aligned with the gun barrel and on either side of which are outwardly extending guides. Retainer assemblies provided near the rear ends of the tubular members include chambers which are in fluid communication with the interior of the gun barrel. The apparatus comprises a bola assembly having a central plug from each side of which extends a cord at the end of which are weights. The plug is insertable into the central tube of the guide assembly and the weights are insertable through the elongated tubes for releasable engagement with the retainer assemblies. Firing of a specially designed shell directs gases to the retainer chamber activating the retainer assemblies for release of the weights as the central bola plug is struck by a portion of the shell propelling the bola assembly toward the fleeing animal or person.

摘要： An explosive countermeasure device is designed to negate an electro-optical seeker system of a missile at least temporarily so that it loses lock on a target aircraft. The device has a central explosive charge with a detonator and a container surrounding the charge for holding a noble gas under pressure. When the charge is detonated, the resultant explosive shock wave will heat the gas to a temperature sufficient for it to emit a short, intense flash of light before the container disintegrates, blinding the electro-optical seeker system at least temporarily.

摘要： A non-lethal personal defense device that may be carried by a user includes a housing, a nozzle having a discharge orifice, a control valve coupled to the nozzle, a pressurized source containing a bio-active agent and coupled to the nozzle, a rangefinder for determining a range to a target, a trigger mechanism for activating firing of the device and a firing controller. The firing controller operates the control valve to discharge an aerosol plume of the bio-active agent through the nozzle in response to activation of the trigger mechanism and in response to the range determined by the rangefinder. The nozzle may include a spray orifice for discharging a pulsed aerosol spray plume at relatively long range and a mist orifice for discharging a pulsed mist aerosol plume at relatively short range. The pulse parameters are varied in response to the sensed range to the attacker. The personal defense device may optionally include a one or more cameras and a wireless communication link for transmitting status information, images and audio to a monitoring station.
