    摘要: A pick and place quadruple head construction for transferring as many as four small workpieces such as computer chips and the like simultaneously from a first matrix to a second matrix. The four individual head units are arranged to form a rectangular area which may be contracted or enlarged upon moving three of the units relative to each other along two mutually perpendicular axes. Each unit includes a reciprocable spindle capable of movement along a third axis, and rotatable about the third axis in repeatable cyclic manner. The spindles include vacuum means for picking up and releasing transferred workpieces. Also disclosed is a wear compensating structure for the spindle. In several of the disclosed embodiments, the head units are arranged such that the reciprocating spindles are located in a common vertical plane so that the articles deposited on the place matrix permit an in-line separation.

    摘要: A feeding apparatus for delivering tablets or performs to an encapsulating machine includes a number of vertically extending chutes, each capable of holding a number of tablets aligned in a row along the respective chute. A plunger mechanism temporary engages one of the tablets in the chute so as to prevent downward movement of the tablet and all pills located above it in the chute. A rotatable feed roll is located adjacent a bottom end section of the chutes and this roll has a number of tablet cavities, each capable of holding an individual tablet. Pivotable stop members are used to prevent temporarily downward movement of the bottom pill in each chute, this pill being located downstream of the plunger. These stop members move to a pill releasing position when the plungers are engaging their respective tablets in the chutes. Each stop member prevents downward movement of its respective row of pills in the chute past the stop member when the plunger is moved to a position of disengagement.

    摘要: The wrapper which surrounds the product is formed from two pieces, for example, of thin aluminium foil. The first piece is shaped to a generally cup-shaped configuration so as to house the product substantially completely also leaving a projecting edge in the region of the mouth portion of the cup-shaped configuration. The second piece, which retains a substantially flat configuration, is applied and welded to the projecting edge. The rim formed as a result of the connection of the two pieces is then subjected to a shaping operation against the product, conferring on the rim a generally case-like configuration. A case-like housing body with a flat base wall which can support the product is thus formed, the case-like housing body being constituted by an integral part of the wrapper.

The soft capsule manufacturing apparatus comprises a pair of die rolls that are close to and confront each other, each die role having capsule pockets in a plurality of rows, and a nozzle segment having an inverse mountain-like projection for supplying a filling material, wherein the inverse mountain-like projection has curved faces that are positioned in confronting relation with each other at right and left sides about the lower end central portion thereof, have nozzle holes, wherein the inverse mountain-like projection confronts a curved recess that is surrounded by curved peripheral surfaces of the die rolls at the upper sides thereof, and wherein two gelatin sheets are supplied between the die rolls from the upper portion thereof to receive the filling material therein corresponding to the capsule pockets of each die roll to manufacture soft capsules, and wherein the nozzle holes are arranged on the curved faces in a plurality of rows corresponding to the capsule pockets provided on the die rolls in a plurality of rows. With this arrangement, when the pump is actuated one time, the filling material is supplied at a time from the nozzle holes arranged in a plurality of rows to the capsule pockets arranged in a plurality of rows, leading to remarkable increase of the production of the capsule pockets.

One of the two hinged parts has a roller thereon for following a cam track having a quarter turn spiral therein. A somewhat loose tab on the top edge of the bottom of the box is a latch tab which is caught when the flip-top folds over.

    摘要: A material handling apparatus includes a first support member, for supportively carrying a pair of opposed jaw members, and a second support member which is slidably attached to the first support member, for linear movement with respect thereto. The second support member has at least one slot formed therein. The apparatus also includes a pair of opposed jaws, which cooperate to define a workpiece-holding space therebetween. The jaws are pivotally attached to one another and to the first support member. Each of the jaws has a hinge portion and an extension opposite the hinge portion. The extension may be made detachable from the hinge portion. The hinge portion of each jaw has an inner portion and an outer portion, with the hinge portions closely aligned with each other. Each of the jaws also has a support post connected to the respective outer portion thereof, and the support posts fit slidably in the slot of the second support member. A spring is also provided for biasing the second support member in a selected direction, whereby movement of the second support member, in a direction opposite the force of the spring, causes movement of the jaws.
