摘要： A gusset pouch and a method of making the pouch is disclosed. The pouch consists of two webs of material that have coterminous marginal edges with the first web having a width greater than the second web between the marginal edges. The first web has a main body portion substantially the same width as the second web with an interconnecting segment between the main body portion and each of the receptive marginal edges. The two webs are interconnected or adhered to each other at one end while the segments each have first and second overlapping portions respectively adhered to the first web and to the second web. The method of making the package or pouch includes folding the first web along spaced fold lines to produce first and second overlapping portions adjacent each marginal edge with the first fold lines spaced inwardly from the respective marginal edges, positioning a second web adjacent the first web and heat sealing the webs to each other along the exposed portions to produce a gusseted tube. The gusseted tube can then be formed in individual pouches by heat sealing transversely of the webs at longitudinally spaced locations and severing the webs along one edge of the transverse heat seal.

摘要： A gum collecting bag having front and rear panels, end overfolded, and Z-shaped side gussets connecting the panels. Extended side seam fins terminating beyond the periphery of the panels permit the bag to be readily affixed to gum trees and to assume the proper shape. A coating of a material which does not contaminate a gum melt, such as a polyamide resin or cellulose acetate, may be applied to the bag to enhance its capacity to withstand weathering during collection. The bag may have a reinforcement fold extending along the top of the longer panel and integral gussets and fins thereof.

Portions of one side of the container are extended to provide ears engaged by the feet of the user to hold the container in position on the ground. 摘要： An impact-resistant container having a flexible walled, rupture resistant, fluid impervious body portion in which one or more pleats are formed. The pleats are secured in a folded position by use of an adhesive or by sewing or interweaving the pleated portion with threads or fibers of sufficient strength to hold the pleats in a folded position during normal use of the container as a vehicle fuel tank or for carrying other liquid substances. Upon being subjected to high impact loads, the folded pleats unfold to increase the volume of the container and while unfolding, absorb the energy of impact upon the container to prevent its bursting. This invention is particularly useful in preventing rupture of fuel tanks in airplane or automotive vehicles and greatly reduces the likelihood of fires which result from such ruptured fuel tanks, air droppable containers and any tank or container where high impact loads will be applied. When used as a fuel tank, the container of this invention may be mounted in a vehicle in a breakaway type retainer shell which holds the tank in a folded position during normal use but upon impact, will open up to permit the fuel tank to expand and unfold to absorb the energy of impact.

摘要： A plurality of expandable bags are serially connected lengthwise in roll form. Each bag is of substantially long length and has an expandable gusset near one end thereof and traversely of the length. The gusset end of each bag is respectively connected to the filling or open end of the next bag by perforated or weakened structure. Various modifications of the position of the opening are incorporated. Also, the bags are rolled into serial form in a compact package for distribution and use with the gusset and opening portions of each bag being rolled inwardly to the inside of the roll, or outwardly to the outside of the roll. The method of making these serially connected bags in roll form is also included.

摘要： An expansible envelope container, folder, bag and the like formed from a one-piece unitary blank is provided. The envelope includes a front panel and rear panel separated by a bottom panel. Each of the front and rear panels has a flap extending outwardly from its left and right side edges. Each of these flaps includes an adhesive and an adhesive-free zone. The front and rear panel right side flaps are secured to each other and similarly the front and rear panel left side flaps are secured to each other. An integral blank for forming the envelope container, folder, bag and the like is also disclosed.
