Abstract:
A document recycler combines the function of a last-in/first-out (LIFO) recycler, a payout device, and a cashbox in one unit and facilitates manual replenishing of banknotes. Storage and extraction of the documents are controlled by coordinated motions between a drive roller, a diverter, and flaps. LIFO recycling allows the device to return the same documents as inserted in case of a transaction cancellation which eliminates the need for an intermediate escrow area.
Abstract:
A fixing device comprises an upper heat roller and a lower heat roller which, by contact rotations of their roller surfaces, thermally fix images on cut sheets passing therebetween. The fixing device further comprises a single oil roller which supplies oil for cut sheet release to the upper and lower heat rollers. When conveying to a process unit a cut sheet B1 to be back-side printed which has been delivered via a circulation path, a conveyance control unit forms a conveyance spacing L2 from a precedent cut sheet A5, which spacing conforms to one turn or more of the lower heat roller, so as to ensure uniform application of oil from the upper heat roller to the lower heat roller during the cut sheet vacant interval.
Abstract:
Paper storage apparatus is provided with friction members that are provided at opposing sides (7c) of a lifting table (7) facing a pair of guide rails (3, 4) such that the friction members (30, 31) project toward the guide rails (3, 4). When a paper (10) is moved by the lifting table (7) so that end portions of the paper (10) escape from the grooves (3a, 4a), the paper (10) slides while being in contact with the friction members (30, 31), thereby to prevent the paper (10) from being moved on the lifting table (7).
Abstract:
The invention provides for an improved signature hopper loader for feeding signatures to a hopper on a binding line. The hopper loader includes two conveyor assemblies that work together to feed signatures to the hopper. The first conveyor assembly is connected to the second conveyor assembly such that there is an angle in the range of 110-120 degrees between the first and second conveyor assemblies. The first and second conveyor assemblies also include forming guides that serve to fan, or deblock, the signatures that are traveling along the first or second conveyor assembly. As the signatures travel over the forming guides, they are bent to give the signatures rigidity and to further facilitate deblocking. The hopper loader further includes an opposing belt that is held on top of at least a portion of one of the transporting belts. The opposing belt is hinged to the frame of the hopper loader and preferably swings down on top of the center belt in the second conveyor. The hopper loader includes a pocket that is connected to the end of the second conveyor assembly. The pocket includes a feed rack that is substantially perpendicular to the end of the second conveyor such that the individual signatures are perpendicular to the feed rack as they leave the end of the second conveyor and enter the pocket. The pocket on the hopper loader of the present invention may also be positioned such that there is a nulldropnull between the end of the second conveyor and the feed rack.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus comprises a vertical type paper feed unit which feed paper into a printing unit, and a discharge unit which contains the paper discharged from the printing unit. The paper feed unit and the discharged unit are arranged in a vertical direction to the printing unit, which will allow the floor surface projection area to be reduced. Further, the paper is conveyed into one of discharge trays in accordance with its paper size. Thereby, the larger size paper is discharged underside the smaller size paper, accordingly, it does not occur for the paper discharged to the upper discharge tray to shield the paper on the lower stage discharge tray from the visual angle. Also, the confirmation of paper discharge and taking out can be easily carried out irrespective of the paper size.
Abstract:
A document inverting-and-transporting apparatus includes a transport path, an inversion-and-transport path, a document transporting unit, a closed portion, a document length detecting unit, a comparing unit, a controlling unit. The transport path includes a first route along which the document is transported from a feeding start position to a transport direction changing position; a joining position; and a reading position. The inversion-and-transport path includes a second route along which the document is transported from the transport direction changing position to the reading position via the joining position. The closed portion constitutes a part of the inversion-and-transport path. The comparing unit compares a detected length of the document with a predetermined length larger than a length of the closed portion. The controlling unit determines whether the document is to be transported to the inversion-and-transport path, based on a result of the comparison.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus 1, which has sophisticated functions of feeding recording paper of various sizes selectively and sorting printed paper, is available in a reduced size. With the feed bin sorters 31a-31d, the output bin sorters 32a-32j, and the output tray 33 being arranged in tiers, pre-printed paper is supplied from any of the feed bin sorters, whereas printed paper is delivered to any of the output bin sorters or the output tray.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a document accumulation device comprising an accumulation receptacle provided with a mobile accumulation guide for receiving a bundle of documents to be folded and drive means constituted by a motor roller driven in rotation by motor means and associated with a free counter-roller adapted to pivot about a pivot pin, in order, on the one hand, to drive and align these documents one after the other against the accumulation guide and, on the other hand, thereafter to eject in one go the bundle of documents thus formed by accumulation in said receptacle, this device further comprising displacement means, constituted by an electro-magnet of which the core having two positions of displacement is connected to a piece supporting said free counter-roller, in order to position these drive means, on the one hand, in a first position in which they are subjected to a rathermore weak drive effort to ensure drive and alignment of the documents and, on the other hand, in a second position in which they are subjected to a rathermore strong drive effort to ensure ejection of the bundle of documents.
Abstract:
A sheet transfer apparatus for an image reading apparatus includes a sheet supply tray for storing a sheet; a sheet supply device for drawing out the sheet on the sheet supply tray; a transfer device for receiving the sheet from the sheet supply means and placing the sheet at a predetermined position on a platen of an image reading apparatus for reading the image thereon; a discharge device for discharging the sheet on the platen after reading the image thereon; and a discharge tray for receiving the sheet discharged by the discharge device. A switchback device is disposed above the platen for reversing the sheet when necessary, and includes a switchback path for receiving the sheet to reverse the same. The switchback path includes a first opening portion for opening a first area near an inlet side, and a second opening portion for opening a second area away from the inlet side of the switchback path. The switchback path is easily accessible when the sheet is jammed.
Abstract:
A jam removing apparatus of a machine having an ADF function to effectively remove a sheet of paper jammed between an ADF roller and a feed roller includes a middle gear engaged with a gear train engaged with an ADF gear of the ADF roller and having a unit to transfer only one-way rotation, a feeding gear engaged with the middle gear and coaxially connected with the feed roller to transfer the paper, and a jam removing unit connected with a shaft of the feeding gear to rotate the feeding gear when removing the jammed paper. The jammed paper is transferred only in a paper supplying direction but not in an opposite direction of the paper supplying direction, thus the jammed paper can be prevented from being damaged by being crumpled by the ADF roller.
