摘要: An elevator car position detecting apparatus includes plates arranged at selected operation points defined along the elevator path, in such arrangement that one operation point is distinguishable from another operation point. Position detectors are provided on a car so that as car moves past the operation points the position detectors communicate with corresponding plates without contacting the plates. The position detectors associated with the corresponding plates generate signals indicating that the elevator car has reached the corresponding position.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for providing a desired terminal slowdown speed pattern as an elevator car approaches a terminal floor in the terminal slowdown zone. Markers are fixedly spaced in the zone, with their spacing being a direct function of their distance from the terminal floor. The markers are detected as the elevator car proceeds past them towards the terminal floor, and a train of signals T are produced having values responsive to the marker-to-marker time, i.e., the elapsed time between successive detections of markers. The velocity V of the elevator car is also detected, and the terminal slowdown speed pattern is provided as a function of the product of V and T, as scaled by a constant which includes the square root of the desired deceleration rate.

摘要: A position sensor disposed on an elevator car has a first rotatable shaft connected to a secondary winding of a transformer or a switch actuating member, and a second rotatable shaft coaxial with the first shaft and connected to a primary transformer winding or to a switch position changing member. A first roller engages a rod-shaped cam mounted at an angle to a guide rail for the car toward the end of the path of travel of the car to rotate the first shaft in a direction to decrease the voltage across the secondary winding or successively actuate the switches. If the car moves horizontally, the first shaft is rotated to change the voltage and a second roller engaging the rail rotates a second shaft to compensate for this change in voltage.

摘要: Terminal slowdown control for elevator systems which includes spaced markers and a detector, mounted for relative movement as an elevator car approaches a terminal. The markers are spaced such that if the elevator car is approaching the terminal with a constant deceleration rate, the combination of the spaced markers and detector will produce pulses at a constant rate. If this constant rate is within a predetermined range, the slowdown is normal. If the rate is faster than a predetermined value, comparison means provides a speed error signal which may be used to initiate terminal slowdown, and the same speed error signal may be used to generate an auxiliary speed pattern voltage for use by the elevator control in bringing the car to a stop according to a predetermined deceleration schedule.

摘要: An elevator system including terminal slowdown control which includes a source which provides a beam of electromagnetic radiation, a receiver of such radiation, and spaced markers disposed in a terminal zone which interrupts the beam of electromagnetic radiation as the elevator car approaches a terminal floor. A monitor circuit monitors the receiver to insure that the beam is continuously received when the elevator car is outside of the terminal zone, and to insure that the receiver detects the spaced markers as the elevator car approaches a terminal floor in the terminal zone. The monitor circuit initiates a procedure which takes the elevator car out of service in the event a malfunction in the terminal slowdown control is detected.

摘要: An elevator safety construction in which detent means is provided to block any elevator from falling more than one floor in free fall from such accidents as breakage of the supporting lift cables of the elevator in its shaft. Each floor of the building has its own safety blocking brace normally extending into the path of the descending elevator to block its path therepast. Timing mechanism times the speed of the elevator car and as long as it is lower than the predetermined car descent speed, each of the successive blocking braces is withdrawn, allowing the car to descend successively past each brace. If, however, the descent speed of the car is excessive, then lower braces are not withdrawn and the car cannot move past them, thus blocking crashes and injuries or fatalities to occupants.

摘要: A terminal slowdown apparatus for an elevator which reads in outputs given by contacting a car with terminal detectors placed depending upon a terminal floor to operate a terminal slowdown signal which is reduced depending upon the distance to the terminal floor and to output the lower signal between the normal speed command signal and the terminal slowdown signal, including a first processor which outputs an acceleration command signal increasing from the start of the car at an acceleration lower than an acceleration of the car given in the start of the car during the saturation fault of the normal speed command signal; a terminal detector which is placed at the point wherein the acceleration command signal is equal to the terminal slowdown command signal generated at the position reaching to the normal slowdown starting position in the rated speed running of the car; a second processor which operates the slowdown command reducing depending upon the distance from the terminal floor to the position for operating the terminal detector; and a third processor which compares the output of the first processor with the output of the second processor to output the lower output as the terminal slowdown command signal.
